“Yes, he’ll need to know what’s going on and will be involved in mission planning. The others would be my first picks as well, but we will need several more. We’ll need to spend some time ensuring we have everything and everyone we need.”
Her bright smile got even wider.
“Now, there's only one more thing...”
Wondering what else she could have to add, Zac's eyebrows drew together as he stared at her. “What?”
She smiled, placing her hands on either side of his face. “Does the Zataras have quarters for couples?”
“All starships have quarters for couples, though…” He pulled away and met her eyes, laughing. “I’m not sure there will be enough room for all the activities we’ll be doing.”
“Activities?” She grinned, catching on immediately. Laila turned and jumped over the back of the sofa and ran across the room, the shirt flapping as she ran, revealing tantalizing glimpses of her curved backside.
Zac chased after her, catching her around the waist and tossing her onto the bed. He prowled across the big bed towards her, his gaze heated, before settling down next to her and throwing a leg over her thighs, holding her in place. She lay still, staring up at him.
“I love you, you know,” he said, his green eyes soft. He smoothed a hand over her brow, pushing her hair away from her forehead, and kissed her nose.
“I love you, too,” she replied, smiling.
