“Babe. I loved everything about today.”

Jess got a faraway look in her eyes and smiled. “I did, too. We’re very lucky we had so many people helping us. I completely forgot about music at the ceremony. Thankfully somebody remembered! And they picked the perfect song for me to walk down the aisle to.”

I felt my chest puff out a little. I’d been worried when I made an executive decision while she was getting ready.

“Actually, it was your brothers who remembered we needed music and got the speakers from your parents. I picked the song.”

“Aw, you did?”

I wrapped my arm around her waist and looked down at her. “Yeah. I couldn’t think of a better song to fit the occasion.”

I’d chosen “I Get to Love You” with the hope she’d get why that had been my choice. We hadn’t said the three little words yet, but I felt them in my soul.

“Did you pick the recessional song, too?”

“That depends… did you like it?”

She giggled. “Who doesn’t love that song? It was the perfect, upbeat song to walk out to.”

“I’m surprised you’d even heard it before since I think it came out when our parents were young.”

“It’s the opening song in one of my favorite movies,While You Were Sleeping.”

Score two for me.

“Then, yeah. I picked it.”

“Did you really?”

I made an “X” over my heart with my finger. “Swear to God.”

“I think you picked “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” as our first dance, too.”

“Actually, it was my mom who suggested that one. Growing up in Boston, she’s a big Aerosmith fan.”

“Well, I loved it.”

I leaned down and murmured, “Me, too,” before softly pulling her bottom lip between mine.

She tasted like champagne and happiness, and I knew I could get drunk on her taste alone.

I reached for her almost-empty glass and set it next to mine on the dresser, then took her hand and guided her to the bed.

The covers were already turned down, and she climbed into bed, then sat back against the pillows and purred, “You have far too many clothes on, Mr. Callahan.”

I’d shed the suit jacket and loosened my tie at the reception. And when we got home, I’d added the vest and tie to the pile on the bench in the entryway, along with my shiny shoes next to it.

Jess watched me unbutton my shirt and let out a small, “Oh my,” when I peeled it off. After placing it on the back of the chair in the corner, I sat down and took off my socks, dropping them on the floor before I stood to unbutton my pants. They landed on top of my shirt after I pulled them off.

I was left in nothing but my black boxer briefs when I walked toward the bed.

“Is this better?”

“Mmm, much.”

I don’t know if she was aware she licked her top lip, or if she was being flirtatious, but either way I liked it. I crawled in next to her and pulled her soft body against mine.

“You are so sexy, Mrs. Callahan,” I whispered before kissing her again.
