He looks down at my open hand. “Don’t worry, I’m going to kill her.”
“Hey, we match.”
I jerk around and feel the blood drain from my head.
I know these two people intimately, though I have never, ever met them. I step back, but Sebastian is staring at them, and he, too, appears shocked.
“It’s you,” the other one snarls.
I think for a moment they are looking at me, but, no, they are glaring at Sebastian.
“Bastion Sun, you bastard!”
Oh, my god. I am so dead. So very, very dead. A nervous giggle escapes, and I slap a hand to my mouth to smother it.
I frantically tear all my brain cells front and center and put on the most pitiful expression of shock and confusion I can muster. I’m sure I look like I need to shit, but no one questions it.
“You’re the bad guy.”
Sebastian frowns. “What bad guy?”
“The bad guy!” the brown-haired alpha snaps and then growls. “You’re very bad!”
“What are you talking about?” Sebastian snarls. “I’m not a bad guy, and my name is Sebastian Sol; only one person is allowed to call me Bas.”
I turn towards him, unable to look away, my heart thudding. That’s me. He’s talking about me.
Aww.
“Well, eep. We’ve matched, let’s, uh, meet up later,” I spit out as soon as my brain stops fixating on Sebastian bloody Sol.
The dark-haired alpha with the pale blue eyes turns to me, and I see his pupils expand very slowly. I cannot look away, not when he approaches me. He’s like a storm front, intense and dangerous, and there’s nowhere for me to shelter.
“Who are you, little omega?”
My brain stops working, the omega in me takes over, surging to the surface.
“Cordelia Lake,” the words stumble out of me without much thought because everything in me is reacting to him. My body is tense; I want to flee, but I can’t move; blood is rushing to my cheeks, and I am acutely aware of Sebastian staring at me.
This alpha still has his hand held out, and I reluctantly give him mine. To my surprise, he lifts my hand to his lips and pauses, inhaling my scent before he presses a hot, lingering kiss to the skin.
I am never washing this hand again.
My head spins wildly, and I realise I’m not breathing. I inhale and catch his potent scent. It’s like spices that warm the air around him and incense that is so delicately layered I feel intoxicated just smelling it.
“Katsu from Pack Blizzard.”
I tear my gaze from his and fall into the green world that is his companion.
“Fenix.”
I gasp at the sound of his voice. It’s deep and masculine but still so soft. He edges closer, but before I can catch his scent, Sebastian is there, pulling me back and setting me behind him.
Did I need to be rescued? Oh, yes. Very much, yes.
My body starts to shake. I lick my lips as I stare at them.
“So, we’re a match. So what,” Sebastian growls. “It means nothing.”
