“How did you find out about this place?” Cordie asks, looking at me with sparkling eyes.

“Oh, well, I went to Lorelei,” I say. “She seems to know just about everything about the area.”

She runs her fingers over the tablecloth. “I feel like I’m going to break something.”

I smile slightly, watching her fidget. I let go of the hold I’ve had on my scent, letting it seep out of me.

She looks up, and her eyes meet and hold mine before they dip to my lips.

“Do you…um, do you like it here?” She’s struggling with it, and I almost pull it back in again.

“I like anywhere I am with you,” I say.

Fox is sitting back, watching her with a small frown.

Sebastian shakes his head but doesn’t interrupt.

She pants slightly and sits forward on the seat. “What is that?” her question explodes out in a rush.

“That is me. All of me.” I’m a little self-conscious, nervous, waiting for the axe to fall.

She inhales and whimpers, squirming in the seat.

I look at Fox, silently asking him to tell the staff not to come in for a moment. He gets up and disappears. I gesture to her, and she slides up off the seat and staggers until she’s standing between my legs, her fingers curled in my jacket.

“It’s so strong,” she moans. “Why? Why haven’t I felt it before?”

“I didn’t want to overwhelm you. But now I don’t want to hide who I am from you.”

She inhales, and when she looks down at me, her eyes are huge black pupils soaked with desire.

And this is not a typical response. I’ve been met with fear, revulsion, and hostility. But other than Fox and Seb, who found me intriguing and safe, no one has ever been this reactive to my overly powerful scent.

I slowly strangle it, allowing it to dissipate, but I keep her in front of me, rubbing circles on her outer thighs, before I lean in and bury my face in her stomach.

“I am so glad I met you,” I whisper. “Anything you want, I will give it to you, anything at all.” I mean it. I’d give up my family's fortune for her, my life. All she needs to do is ask.

Her fingernails scrape lightly over my scalp, and I hold my breath, staying still as she repeats the gesture, until I can’t hold it in anymore. The purr bursts out of me, deep and smooth.

She stills, her fingers flex, and then, suddenly, she’s pulling me against her, and she’s purring back.

“Wow,” Fox murmurs. “You both sound like heaven.” His voice sounds drugged, thick and heavy, filled with yearning.

I can’t move, I can’t stop.

I could no sooner turn away from this purring omega than I could chop off my hand. Her fingers clench in my hair, and my hands find her ass, holding her close to me.

“Your next course is ready,” Wayne says. “And these cute little devils are bilbies.”

I let her go, inch by inch, pulling back and releasing her. She looks dazed as Fox pulls her into her seat.

He chuckles when she stares at the plate in front of her.

“You have a beautiful purr, Omega.”

She looks up at him, her eyes full of confusion and a growing warmth.

“I do, don’t I?”
