“Nevertheless, polyamory doesexist,” Morgan argued. “People do this. Couples do this. Trios do this. It’s not as impossible as you think it is.”

I rubbed my forehead. “Even if it were … possible … none of those people are the president’s daughter. Besides, I don’t even know what I feel yet.”

Did we just have something physical, or was there more to it?

“Do you like them?” she asked softly.

I swallowed. “Yeah, of course.”

“Both of them?”

I nodded. “But I can’t plan anything long-term based solely on that, and they haven’t even mentioned wanting more.”

“No one said you had to have it all figured out tonight. Just don’t rule out the possibility if they’re interested.” She linked her arm with mine. “And if there’s another hookup, I’ll be here, waiting for all the details.”

I burst into laughter. “Of course you will.”

“Now, come on. Let’s get you back to the reception. Your parents are probably wondering where you are.”

I pressed a hand to my stomach, where nerves and excitement curled together.

I had no idea what would happen next, but one thing was clear. If I got another chance to see Jase and Dylan, I knew exactly what I would say.

Jase

Back in Floridaa few weeks later, I returned to the small two-bedroom apartment the Sox had stuck me in to find my roommate wasn’t home. His bedroom door was open, and his room was dark, so I assumed he’d gone through with his plan to hit the pool with a couple of the guys, which worked for me because I wanted the place quiet.

I carried my duffel down the short hall to my room and dropped it next to the dresser that already had way too much clean laundry piled on top. Shutting my door, I kicked off my shoes, and dropped onto the bed. The mattress squeaked under my weight as I stretched out on my back. I propped a pillow under my head and unlocked my phone.

The Loop opened with one swipe. Faye showed up first, front row at some Boston event in a black dress, arm in arm with Morgan, smiling at the camera.

I closed the app before I could scroll further and pulled up our group chat instead.

Status check, Princess. What are you up to?

Faye: I’m on my couch in sweats watching a cult doc

Dylan: Turn the cult off and chat with us instead

Faye: Pretty sure you two are more dangerous than the cult is

You keep texting us though ;)

Faye: Questionable life choices :P

Come make another one in Florida

Faye: There it is

There what is?

Faye: The part where you two try to talk me into doing something I shouldn’t do

Dylan: She knows us too well

Doesn’t mean we’re wrong. Come down here
