He grins, tossing the poker chip back to me. “I’m on board. Let’s do this. Any vision you have, I’ll make it happen for you.”

“Forus.”

“Us?”

“Yes.” I stand from my chair and circle to the front of my desk, leaning against it. “When Harper and I got backtogether, I didn’t waste time moving her in with me. I don’t see any point wasting time with you either. I’m organizing someone to move all your belongings in with us. As for The Scarlet Mirage, I need you here running this place with me, not just till the expansion is complete, but permanently. We said we would open a speakeasy together. Things have worked out different to how we planned, but we can still live out that dream. What do you say?”

“Fucking yes,” he laughs. “Let’s do this.”

CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

HARPER

I wake peacefully, naked and savoring the pleasant ache between my thighs. The bad dreams are gone now that Felix and Tyler are mine. A smile spreads across my face as I roll onto my back and stare at the ceiling.

Last night… my god. The memory sends a ripple of butterflies through me.

How is this perfect life real? I can still feel their touch on me,inme—Tyler’s gentle hands counterbalanced by Felix’s demanding grip. My skin tingles, remembering how I took them both at once. Their eyes upon me. Their groans as we gave pleasure to each other. Wherever they are right now, I need to find them.

My phone rings before I have a chance to climb out of bed. I grab it from the bedside table, answering when Ally’s name appears on the screen. We’ve sent a few texts over the last couple of weeks but for the most part I’ve been too occupied with Tyler, Felix, and work.

“Hey, Ally. How are you?”

“Worried about you. We haven’t spoken in a while which isn’t like us.”

I sit up and rub a hand over my face, cringing with guilt. “I know. I’m sorry. I’ve been caught up with?—”

“Felix?” Ally laughs softly. “Don’t worry, I understand.”

“Tyler too. He’s here with us.”

She’s silent, absorbing my words, confused yet hopeful when she speaks again. “Tyler is with you and Felix? As in you three are… back together?”

“Yes.”

She squeals so loudly I have to pull the phone away from my ear. “Harper, I’m so happy for you. I need details. Felix and Tyler worked out their issues?”

I laugh, pleased by her reaction and wanting to tell her everything. But that would involve an explanation of Tyler being shot. We’ll tell her the truth in time. I’m just not convinced sharing sensitive news over the phone is appropriate. Felix has only given minimal updates to the family that he suspects Ferguson is dead.

“Yes, they solved their issues,” I say. “It’s a long story. Probably best I tell you in person.”

“That’s no fun. Ineedto knownow.”

“I promise we’ll see each other soon. We’ll do all sorts of fun bridal activities and I’ll explain everything. We’ll invite you and Dan over for dinner at our place. Killian too.”

The excitement drops from her voice. “I don’t know how likely a get together at your place is. Dan is still angry at Felix for putting us in danger. They haven’t spoken in weeks. I hope they can solve their issues soonbecause the wedding is barely three weeks away and I’d hate for there to be tension between them on the day.”

“I’m sure they’ll sort everything out. Felix has been stressed. We’ve been busy.”

She laughs again. “Yeah, I can imagine.”

I fall backward onto the mattress, laughing with her. “Oh, shut up. Not busy inthatway. Tyler hasn’t been well. We have a lot to tell you.”

Ally pauses, the mood shifting, her silence thick with concern. “Harper, what’s really going on? Josh gave us a brief message from Felix that he suspects this Quentin Ferguson person died in a car crash. Why do I feel like there’s more to this story?”

I sigh, needing to be honest with her. “Because your instinct is right. Ally, please, trust me when I say we’ll explain everything to you soon.”

“Okay, I trust you.”
