“Have you heard anything from Ty about The Owner?” I ask Van.
We briefly touched on that situation with Baz last night. We haven’t gotten to the Choosing, who my real parents are, although we did explain that we needed to find Pete, who is my dad, but for some reason, no one mentioned that he’s the king of Trieneliea, which is odd. Unless they were waiting for me to mention it, and I was so busy trying to make sure that he knew about the risks of the job that it just slipped my mind.
Chapter Eleven

Van opens his mouth to answer me, but I interrupt. I need to tell Baz about my parents before it gets lost in the conversation, and I completely forget to mention it.
“You know we told you that Pete is my dad?” I ask.
Baz’s eyebrows dip down slightly since the conversation that we were just having had absolutely nothing to do with Pete.
He nods, “Yeah.”
“He’s also the King of Trieneliea, the realm that has been closed off so the war couldn’t slip through to the other realms,” I explain, since I have no idea if he remembers it, or if he’s even aware of it happening since he was on the run in Luesidious when it happened. At least I think he was, I’m not entirely sure on the timelines, and I don’t think he is either. I continue explaining, “Pete shouldn’t be in this realm. My mom, the queen, is still over there. I don’t remember anything before I was five,” I tell him quickly.
I feel like, since the Pete situation is most likely the next one that we’re going to be dealing with, that Baz should probably know that.
“So you’re royalty, huh?” He smirks when I pull a face, and he adds with a smile, “Noted, don’t call you royalty.”
“Do you remember Trieneliea?” Raiden asks curiously.
Baz nods, “I do. I remember that there was a war going on, but I don’t remember the realm being shut down, and access to it being cut off from the other realms.”
“It probably overlapped from when you were caught in Luesidious,” Ransom points out. He adds, “And I don’t imagine that you managed to keep up on the goings on of the other realms.”
“No, I was a bit too focused on surviving,” Baz agrees.
I glance over at Van, “Sorry, I just wanted to make sure that Baz knew before I forgot to tell him, and then he got really shocked when we found Pete, and Baz maybe recognized him.”
Van smiles, “That’s fair enough. To answer your previous question though, yes, I have heard from Ty. They’ve found some strong leads for The Owner, and he’s confident that they’re going to catch up to him.”
“That’s good,” I reply. “I have no idea how I’m going to let Rana know when we’ve got him.”
River clears his throat, “Dare messaged me, Trip arrived. I filled them in on the situation, and they’re all going to go and look for her.”
My eyebrow raises, “They’re all going?”
River nods, “Yep.”
“They’ve hit it off that quickly?” Griff asks in surprise.
River smirks, “I think that it’s got more to do with the fact that it's Rana.”
“Ahh. Gotcha ya,” Griff grins. “I didn’t see that one coming.”
“I may have read the situation wrong, but I would be surprised if I have,” River replies with a smile.
“Well, I’m glad that she’s got people who care about her going after her,” I reply, a small amount of tension easing.
River nods, “He said that he would keep me updated.”
“Thank fuck,” I reply.
“Has Kar got in contact with you about Pete’s location?” Coen asks, curiously.
I shake my head, “No, he hasn’t.”
