And she was glad for the strength of his arms around her and the sound of his deep voice in her ear.
Gisela wrapped her arms around his shoulders and buried her face against his muscled neck and inhaled the warm scent of him. She wanted this more than she’d ever wanted anything.
Xaydin ached with want as he forced himself not to thrust even deeper into her. But it was hard.
He wanted her in a way unimaginable. She surrounded him with heat and her breath against his neck sent a thousand chills over him.
She felt wonderful, and he never wanted to let her go.
“Relax, my lady,” he said gently.
He waited until her hold on him loosened. She looked up at him, her face trusting. That was a look he’d never forget because he knew that trust came no easier to her than it did to him.
That was as much a gift as her sharing her body. Because trust broken could never be regained. And creatures like them didn’t just randomly toss it about.
They guarded their trust like the sacred treasure it was. Having been betrayed so viciously, he’d never do that to anyone else.
And he savored this moment of her lying under him, her body bare and joined to his. It was the most incredible thing he’d ever experienced. A wave of fierce possession tore through him then.
She was his and she now owned a part of him that no one else had ever claimed.
Smiling up at him, she brushed the hair back from his face. “You feel so strange inside me.”
Xaydin returned her smile. “How do I feel?”
“Full and deep. I can feel you all the way to my core.”
He sucked his breath in at her words and the image they created. “Can you now?”
She nodded.
He pulled back, then thrust his hips against hers. They moaned in unison. Xaydin moved slowly against her, driving himself in as deep as he dared.
“You are an incredible beast,” she growled.
It was the first time in his life that he could recall being referred to as a beast where it didn’t insult him. “And you are a beautiful woman.”
Those words embarrassed her and it infuriated a part of him because he knew she’d never heard that enough. A woman this special should have been told that.
A lot.
He cursed everyone who’d hurt her. No heart should be trampled so callously. Rather, they should be cherished.
Xaydin rolled over with them still joined. He sat her on top of him and watched her in the candlelight.
Her eyes widened even more. “This is interesting…”
He actually laughed at that. “Do you like it?”
She bit her lip and nodded enthusiastically.
Xaydin showed her how to ride him slow and easy. He ran his hands down her thighs and watched the way the candlelight cut across her pale skin. His mind was dazed from the feel of her naked body sliding against his.
She wiggled her bottom against him. “What am I supposed to do?”
He lifted his hips up, driving himself deeper into her. “Whatever you want to do.”
She ground herself against him in a way so sublime that he groaned in satisfaction.
