Nahla’s eyes widened. “You know him?”
“I’ve met him once or twice,” Tabitha hedged. Major figured she would tell the twins who Connor was whenever they weren’t in a crowded bar.
“Looks like Saturday it is. I’ll text Daddo to give him a heads up and make sure they don’t already have plans,” Marshall offered, pulling his phone from his pocket and tapping out a message. Maveryck responded with a thumbs up.
After several more drinks and plans to get together with his siblings over the next few days, Major and Tabitha headed home. It wasn’t how he had planned on spending their evening, but he should have known that once Tabitha was around the others, they would want to keep her there as long as possible. The demons weresmitten with their new “sister,” and Marshall, well, Marsh had been just as awed by the fiery redhead. Where he was normally quiet and reserved, around Tabby he was talkative, cracking jokes just to hear her laugh. She had a great laugh.
As soon as they were in the front door, Major pressed Tabby against it and shoved his nose against her throat. “I have been hard for hours.” His fangs dropped. “Watching you hold court like a queen with her beloved subjects was a turn on.” Major scraped the sharp points down her neck. “The way you put Fallon on her ass…” Major pressed his erection against his mate’s stomach. “I almost busted a nut then and there.” One hand fisted her loose hair, tugging her head to the side. “Calling my family yours in front of everyone.” Major sucked her lobe into his mouth. “Zeus, you are everything I could have wanted, and you’re mine.”
“Yours.” Tabitha slid her hands between them and unfastened his jeans. She lowered the zipper, then dipped her hand behind his briefs, fisting his length. Major pushed his pants down farther to give her room to work. And work she did. Tabitha dropped to her knees, giving him the best blowjob of his life. After he shot off down her throat, Tabby wiped her mouth, grinning.
“Your turn,” Major husked. “Let’s take this to the bedroom.” He pulled his pants up, tucking his half-hard dick in his briefs and zipped up. Then he lifted his mate bridal-style and carried her up the stairs where he spent the next hour feasting on her body and bringing her to orgasm with his tongue, fingers, and cock. It was going on four a.m. when she snuggled against his chest and let out a happy sigh. Major ran his fingers through her hair, pressing kisses to the top of her head, and thanking Zeus again for the gift that was Tabitha Stone.
Wednesday was just the two of them relaxing after waking up in the afternoon. Major ordered groceries to be delivered, and they cooked an early supper together. Afterward, they lounged on the sofa with Major spooning Tabitha while they caught up on one of the shows they both enjoyed. Thursday, they met Marshall and the demons for brunch, then they stopped by Marshall’s and Kayden’s shop. The building used to be the Hounds’ old clubhouse when their daddo and uncles were in the MC there. A lot of the younger generation rode bikes, but no one had wanted to take over the club when the older Hounds moved out of town.
Thursday evening, Marshall, Mateo, and Aria joined them for supper. Major offered to order in pizza, but Tabitha wouldn’t hear of it. “This is your family, Hottie. I don’t mind cooking. Besides, Mateo cooked for us, so we should return the favor.” Major didn’t argue. He got in the kitchen with her and helped put together one of Marshall’s favorite meals. Tabitha and Aria hit it off, and the two giggled while listening to the males talk about their childhoods.
Friday, they drove over to see Tessa and Gregor. Her little brother, Andy, reminded Major of himself when he was young. He was cute as a bug, and he chattered nonstop, especially about his baby cousin Wesley. More than once, he asked Tessa when they were getting a baby, and every time, she got a funny look on her face. Major wondered if she and Gregor were trying or if maybe they’d lost a child and didn’t tell Andy. He waited until they were driving back home to ask.
“Is your mom okay? She avoided the topic of having another sibling for Andy.”
Tabitha lolled her head against the seat and smiled. “They’ve been trying. For some reason, it’s difficult for Mom to conceive. They started trying for Anthony and me at the same time our aunts got pregnant. That didn’t happen for a couple of years. They decided they were okay with only the two of us, so they didn’t think about having more kids. Andy was a pleasant surprise. When he began asking for a baby brother or sister, they began trying again, but they’ve also talked about adoption, which I wholeheartedly believe in. There are too many kids in the foster system who need permanent families. Andy would be just as happy with a baby sibling who is adopted and be the perfectly adoring big brother. Well, except for maybe diaper duty.”
“Is that something you’d like to do? Adopt a kid or two?”
“If you’d be okay with it. I do want biological children too, but with as much money as we have, there’s no reason not to adopt eventually. I want us to have a few years together before we go either route. I want to be selfish with your time.”
“I don’t think it’s selfish. I appreciate the fact that you want to spend time with me first, especially since we’ll live so long. For the record, I’m on board with adoption. River, a good friend and fellow Hound, runs a shelter for misplaced teens. Marshall and I volunteer there, so I’m aware of kids who need homes. Not to change the subject, but do you want to head home and cook or stop by Ripley’s?”
“I don’t mind cooking, but if you want to hang out with the demons, I’m okay with that too.”
Major didn’t have to think long. He would be spending all day with his sisters when they went to their parents’ house the next day. “I’ll help you cook.”Tabitha’s Goyle sent a pulse through their bond, and his Gryphon responded in kind. “I guess we made the right decision.”
“Yeah, we did,” Tabitha husked. Major had a feeling they’d be having dessert first.
Chapter 24
Tabitha was inlove with Natalia. Platonically, but still. Having a mom like Tessa set the bar high for awesomeness, and Natalia met that bar. It was evident in her actions that she loved Major and Marshall as much as she did her girls, and that spoke volumes to Tabitha about the kind of woman she was. It was hard to imagine the lavender-haired pixie as an assassin, but looks could be deceiving.
With Maveryck and Natalia living in a small community of Hounds, the birthday party turned into a gathering of aunts, uncles, and close friends. Tabitha felt right at home, being used to her own large family. Some of them knew her parents since they had helped when Major’s cousin, Lucy, had been taken by a rogue GIA agent. Lucy was mated to Tabitha’s uncle Tamian and was Harlow’s mother. Having grown up hearing Harlow talk about her relatives, Tabitha felt as though she already knew them.
When they first arrived, Natalia had opened the door in her pajamas. Her kids yelled, “Surprise!” Natalia turned and yelled something at Maveryck in Russian before smiling at her children, hugging them all. After Major introduced her to Tabitha, Natalia apologized for her appearance.
“We did spring a surprise on you, so no apologiesneeded.”
Natalia excused herself to get dressed, and that’s when Maveryck informed them the small party was going to be much larger than planned. The siblings took it in stride, especially since the clubhouse had been transformed into a party room filled with all kinds of food and decorations.
Before joining the others, the kids gave Natalia her gift. Natalia was speechless as she gently touched each of her children’s likeness. Then she pointed at the artist’s signature at the bottom. “This is a Rico Di. How can you afford that, even if you pooled your money?”
Major tugged Tabitha against his chest. “Tabitha knows him. All she did was send him the picture and ask for a favor.”
Natalia handed the painting to Mav, then pulled Tabitha away from Major, hugging her tightly. “Thank you,Solnyshko.” That was the moment Tabitha fell in love with her. She had a wonderful mother, a host of aunts, and now, another mom. Tabitha was truly blessed.
There was snow on the ground, but that didn’t seem to matter. There were a several sets of corn hole boards set up. The Hounds were a competitive group, and the partners were interesting. Natalia didn’t choose Mav. She and Nahla were a team, while Maveryck and Nadya partnered up. Tabitha opted to watch against Major’s wishes. He and his aunt Kerrigan were fierce against Marshall and War, Kerrigan’s mate. There was a lot of trash talking and even more laughter. Sadie sat with Tabitha, while Hayden made sure she always had a drink.
Once the tournament was over with Natalia and Nahla kicking everyone’s ass, they moved inside the clubhouse to eat. Then a poker tournament ensued. That Tabitha sat in on. Natalia opted out, moving between the tables to cheer on her kids. Seeing her love for them all was a thing of beauty. When Tabitha wiped the table clean, Natalia cheered her on too.
The party went on well into the night. Music poured from large speakers, and everyone danced. Seeing these tough bikers let loose with their mates on the dance floor was one of the best parts of the night. Marshall danced with his mom, and Mav took turns with the demons. At one point, an impromptu sing-along was led by Rhiannon. A huge bonfire was lit when the sun went down, and the fixings for s’mores were brought out. Being around Major’s family made Tabitha miss her own aunts and uncles. She missed being able to pop over to Lydia’s and hang out with Sophia. She missed spending time with Amelia and watching Abbi teach dance lessons. That’s what happened when you became an adult, though. Lives no longer intersected as often as they used to.
