“ITandBlack Christmas.”

“Great choices,” Sebastian complimented.

I beamed at him.

We hurried back into the limo, where we were taken across town to a large house. It was nice but only half the size of my mother’s small mansion. Cars lined the street and driveway. Music poured from the house, and as we walked inside, it was just as Dourif had described. Alcohol, music, and whatever drugs I wanted. People were dancing with abandon—and having sex with even more. I took Sebastian’s hand, and he led me through the house in search of the man of the manor, Mr. Jason Dourif himself.

When our self-guided tour came up short, we had to resort to asking. That was something neither of us had wanted to do. Asking someone gave the police a possible witness. However, Sebastian found the drunkest person at the party—someone who wouldn’t remember us—and they pointed and slurred something. Whatever was said had been correct, because Sebastian returned to me, grabbed my hand, and took me to a back room I hadn’t noticed before. He pushed the door open, and I turned my head in disgust as I caught a young redhead giving the midlist talent manager a deep-throated blowjob. He looked up, and when she paused, he shoved her head back down.

“Who’s there?” he called.

I slid my glasses off, and he instantly recognized me.

“Hey! Little Lita! Come in. Close the door behind ya. She’s almost done,” he said, letting his head fall back.

Sebastian snickered and gave me a look. “You going in?” he asked.

I scowled. He found this entirely too amusing.

“Or you gonna wait outside?”

The question was layered. Sebastian wasn’t referring to waiting for the blowjob to finish. I’d watched him put a knife in his pocket when we were at my house. If I didn’t kill Jason, he would. So what was I going to do?

Do what I came to Hollywood for, or continue being part of the audience?

Chapter 23

The Exposition Scene

“Come on in, Little Lita. Take off those disguises. Who you got there with you?” Dourif waved us in as the redhead lifted her head from his lap and wiped her mouth.

I cringed as he stood, flashing his spent cock before stuffing himself back into his pants.

“Sorry, friends. She’s sloppy.” He patted her head and pushed her away.

Urging me farther into the room with a hand on my back, Sebastian greeted him. “Jason, it’s been a while.”

“Ah, it’s you—Sebastian Shaw.” Dourif smiled wide. “Welcome to my humble abode. Valerie, get out of here. I’ll call and get you that audition tomorrow, first thing.”

The pretty redhead stood and turned to us. Her eyes widened when she saw Sebastian, but she quickly dipped her head and scurried out.

I grimaced. She had to be close to my age, if not younger.

Sadness dripped from me as I watched the desperate woman flee. I handed Sebastian my disguise, and he set it down.

“Come. Sit, you two. You do cocaine?” Dourif asked me, plopping back down onto the couch. A large white pile of powder sat on the coffee table in front of him. He pointed to Sebastian. “I know you do. Come get some of this before I go through it all myself.”

“We’re good,” Sebastian answered for both of us.

Something about his tone irritated me. He didn’t speak for me. Dourif caught the look I gave Sebastian and licked his lips.

“Come on, Little Lita. Do a line. It’s just a little coke. Come sit with Uncle Jason.” He rubbed the spot beside him, and I was eternally grateful that I didn’t need hisskillsto advance my career. I sat down and watched as he prepared three lines. “You sure you don’t want in on this? It’s good stuff.” He looked up at Sebastian, who simply shook his head.

“I think I’ll pass too. I just…wanted to catch up,” I said, looking at Sebastian.

“Catch up? Girl, I barely knew you. Unless you’re here to suck my cock, do my drugs, or hire me as your manager, you can leave.” As he spoke, he picked up a pre-rolled five-dollar bill and offered it to me.
