Kansas laughed and leaned against the island.

"And what about her job? Are we okay with that?"

I gave him a pointed look. "I'm more concerned about the job part. We've got the money, so why let her work? She should be able to spend her days gardening to her heart's desire, not putting out content to get a decent wage."

"Fair enough. What do you think? A week to pack everything up and take off?" he asked.

Before I could answer, there was a loud click from the doorway. We both turned and froze. Rem, the only survivor in our terror run, was holding a gun in one hand and a phone in the other. The phone was far more terrifying.

Rule 82 - Eisley

In a slasher, still be afraid of guns.

It took forever for me to get the blood smell out of my hair, but I scrubbed my body while I tried to wash and condition it out. By the time I turned the water off and stepped out, I felt wonderful.

My entire body felt tingly. It had since the moment I'd woken up from the ritual. I assumed it would fade eventually, but for now, it felt incredible. I couldn't wait for the guys to get showered so we could go back to bed. I was horny. It was like my body had been shot up with aphrodisiacs or something. I needed them inside me, now.

Humming the theme song from The Addams Family, I went to my bedroom and found a nightgown to wear. Now I actually had a reason to wear these sexy things. I had people to admire them, forever.

As I tossed my towel in the hamper and prepared to go downstairs, I looked around the room, sadness befalling me. They wanted me to move. I wanted that too, but this was my first real home. I’d miss it. Turning back, I headed down the stairs, and I heard a loud rustling in the kitchen.

"Everything all right?" I asked as I came into the room and then froze. Rem was here, pointing a gun at Constantine.

My husband looked at me with a hardened expression.

"Eisley, do you remember what I told you? Before?" I started to shake my head, but then Kansas spoke.

"Think."

Don’t talk to anyone.

Don’t look back.

Just run.

They wanted me to leave them behind. I couldn't do that.

"No."

Both Kansas and Constantine's expressions fell. They kept their hands up and continued to try to talk Rem down.

"I'm not going down without a fight. I know you're behind this crazy shit!" Rem shouted at Constantine. My husband shook his head.

"I don't know what you're talking about man."

"Why are you covered in blood?" Tears began to slide down Rem's dark cheeks. His eyes were wild with desperation. "Both of you. What did you do to everyone?"

"We didn't do anything," Kansas said. Rem spun the gun to him.

"Bullshit. I'm done. I'm not letting you guys get away. I heard you. You guys want to leave, but I'm not going to let that happen." He reached into his pocket and pulled out two sets of handcuffs. Keeping the gun swinging from one to another, he crept toward them. Both Kansas and Constantine let him put one hand each in the cuffs. Rem's head darted around, looking for a place to clip them to. He settled on an old pipe attached to the wall.

"What are you going to do?" I asked Rem. I didn't quite understand why my men were acting so oddly. If we all were immortal, then why did a gun matter? Rem pulled out his phone.

"I'm calling the police, and you're gonna be taken in. They won't let you just walk away from this."

My blood chilled instantly. Oh. Immortals sitting in a jail cell? Not good. "Can we talk about this?" I pleaded with Rem. "The cops were already here this afternoon. I don't need to deal with them again."

"You're sleeping with the murderers! What else is there to talk about?"
