Rule 78 - Eisley
Always have an alibi.
"Idon't think I can do this." I stood in my kitchen with Constantine later that afternoon. When we got back to my house, I went straight up to shower and put some makeup on.
"You have to. We need you to have a tight alibi. You can't have murdered someone if you've got ten thousand people saying they were watching you bake brownies in your kitchen."
I rolled my eyes. "Not the literal work. I don't feel right about it. The Minister only killed one person. You've done that."
"Yes, well, princess." He walked around my kitchen, opening and shutting drawers. He found my knife drawer and pulled out a particularly large one and waved it at me. “Consider this extra credit.”
“Constantine, you can’t… you said yourself there’s been too many deaths already. You need to stop.”
He put the knife back in the drawer and shrugged.
"I understand what you’re trying to say, but those families deserve to feel the pain they inflicted on all those kids. So, sorry, but yes, your friends all gotta die."
"Why them though?" I walked around the island to him, resting my hands on his chest. "They did nothing wrong."
His phone vibrated in his pocket, and he stepped back to answer it. "Kansas," he muttered and brought the phone to his ear. I could hear his voice, but he turned away from me.
I hadn't filmed a video or done a live in over a week. I hadn't even looked at any of my creator socials. Could I really do this now? Constantine ended the call and turned back.
"I've got to go. We have a small issue."
"Issue?" I furrowed my brow and twisted my fingers.
"We did a spell to freeze your friend's interactions with you. Remember when they seemed to forget you? That was us." He pointed to his chest. "We thought it would be easier for you that way. With the power going out, our spell unfroze. Our timeline just sped up quite a bit." He put his hands on my shoulders and squeezed. "Go live and chat for a few hours. Show some tits if you need to, bounce, giggle, whatever, but make sure your face is on that screen until I come back for you. Got it?"
"What if you don't come back?"
He looked up at the clock on the wall.
"If you don't see me by midnight, shut it off. But I'll be back before then." He headed toward the door, planting a kiss on my forehead.
"Where are you going first?" I called to him. He spun around and smiled at me so coldly, I shivered.
"Don't ask about stuff you really don't want to know."
"Be safe."
How could I be okay with this? I wasn't. I had to do something. I didn't want to live forever if that meant my friends had to die. Steeling myself, I went live.
I took the idea from Constantine and decided on brownies. With everything in front of me on the island, I pushed the little red button on my phone, and a moment later, names and hearts were popping up wildly.
Eisley!!!!
So glad you're back!
Are you okay?
You're hot.
I smiled at the comments and then looked directly into the camera. "Hey, witches! I know, it's been far too long. I've been dealing with some stuff. I can't disclose at this time to protect identities, but I wanted to let you guys know I'm okay. Today I'm going to show you how I make my famous pumpkin cheesecake brownies and chat along. Now, what kind of tea blends have you tried lately?"
I spent the next hour talking with people about various tea recipes, then I shifted to brownies.
"You know who loves my brownies? My friends. I should text them and see if they want to come over. You guys liked Constantine so much, why not show you my friend group?" I let out a fake giggle. Despite the permanent smile on my face, I was dreading this. I grabbed my tablet and messaged Therese, Micah, and Rem, inviting them over for brownies.
