I was skeptical. “What does it do other than make you high?”

They shared a look on the couch they were also sharing, then looked at me across from them. “It helps you loosen up. Look,” Landon sighed and brushed his hair back. “Everyone is really uptight when they first come to Ginata’s colony. The pills help you embrace the lifestyle. Come on,” he slid the bowl across the table, but I simply stared down at it, my hands firmly in my lap. “It’s fine. Ginata wants us to do this.”

“Ginata wants us to have a threesome?” I blurted. I cringed at how blunt it was, but the pair I went home with just laughed.

“Yes. Actually, she encourages us all to live a poly-lifestyle. For so long, women have been forced to service men and their pleasures, but Ginata wants us to be better,” Paulo explained.

Landon stood and came over to me. He sat down and put his hand on my thigh. I stiffened. “We are here to make sure you always have the best time. Let us do our jobs.” He smiled, and I took a large breath.

Paulo joined me then, and I shuddered as his hand went to the other thigh. Together, as if minds in sync, they began to urge my legs apart.

My knees knocked together, and they stopped. Landon pressed his body against me and began kissing my neck. “Relax, and let us give you the best orgasm you’ve ever had.”

“Have you ever been bitten?”

“What?”

“Can I,” he paused, running fingers so lightly across my thighs it tickled. “Bite you?”

I blinked rapidly.

“Are you going to bite me?” I asked, my voice soft and airy. Memories of the times Desi and I had bitten each other and how good it felt rushed through my mind.

Would two bites feel even better?

“What? God no. Vampire blood? That’s poisonous.” Paulo scooted away quickly as if I had, in fact, bitten him. I shook my head.

“No, it’s not. I’ve done it.”

“How? Scout, sweetie,” Landon’s voice came out shaky and confused. He reached for my chin, pinched it, and turned me to look at him. “You can not have possibly drank from another vampire’s body and survived.”

“You know that’s how Bloodborne's turn, right?” I gave them a look, and they furrowed their brows in confusion. Did they really not know? I shook my head. I was not giving a lecture on blood bonds tonight.

I straightened and slapped his hand away. “I have and did. Look.” I pulled up my skirt and spread my thighs, then pointed to the two small fang marks that were my permanent reminder of the first time Desi had taken blood from me.

The two Bloodshed vampires leaned in and examined the scar. Paulo ran his finger against it and swore.

“What does that even mean?” he asked Landon, more than me. Landon shook his head.

“I have no idea.” He looked at me. “What happened to the other vampire? Did they die?”

“No. He’s still alive and well, to my knowledge, and I have drank from him. We were fine. It’s fine.” I threw up my hands and closed my legs. “We don’t have to. It’s just really nice. It feels super good. I don’t know who’s been telling you otherwise.”

“Was he like you? A Bloodborn?” Paulo asked.

I swallowed. “Yes. But that stuff really doesn’t matter. We’re all the same other than eye color.”

“No, not really. There are lots of things we can’t do that you can,” he shot back harshly.

“Like what?” I smirked.

“Have kids,” Paulo said, his voice dripping with sadness.

I blinked. “Really?”

“You didn’t know?” Landon and Paulo shared a look.

I shook my head. “No. I guess I never thought about it. I mean, I know legacy families and their weird obsession with keeping things pure, but I didn’t think—” I paused, trying to really consider their words. I guess I hadn’t heard of any mixed vampires. Or Bloodsheds that had children. “Having children isn’t really commonanyway.” I shrugged it off.
