“He wants to watch,” I revealed, unsure of why. I wasn’t going to actually do it. Her eyes lit up, and she grinned excitedly.

“Ooh. You should get on all fours and then have Landon in the front so you can blow him while his friend can fuck you. What’s his name?”

I crossed my arms. The image of that scenario danced in my mind. “Paulo, and no. I’m not doing it.”

“Why not?” Her face hardened, and suddenly she was defensive. “You’re acting like a prude.”

“I’m not a prude,” I protested. “I just don’t want to focus on multiple people.”

“But that’s the best part.” She raised her hands and pinched her fingers together. “You don’t have to. They are going to focus on you. Scout, have you ever come so hard you squirt?”

“Prue!” I let out a scream. She laughed.

“Let them take you home tonight and have fun. You won’t regret it.”

I sighed. When I first arrived at work, I was sure I would not do what Landon wanted. Now, I wasn’t as confident that I’d say no to a threesome with him and Paulo.

“New topic. It’s already been decided.” She waved the dark thoughts away dismissively. “I guess the bouncers had a problem earlier.” She turned away from me, heading to the mirror to reapply her makeup.

“Really?” I joined her, interested in the gossip. We rarely had stories about the bouncers. She nodded.

“Yep. Some Bloodborn, no offense,” she paused and looked at me with an awkward smile. “Some Bloodborn showed up with a reservation, but he was in jeans and a t-shirt.” She scrunched up her nose. “Obviously, they refused to let him in. I guess he tried to start a fight with Hawk.”

I stiffened. Alarms were going off in my head.

Jeans and a t-shirt?

“What did he look like?”

Prue shrugged. “I don’t know. I didn’t bother asking. Go see Hawk. Why were you expecting someone?” She raised an eyebrow, and a slow smile slid onto her face. “Did you find someone on your own? I bet Paulo and Landon wouldn’t mind sharing.” She wiggled her eyebrows, and I scowled.

“Fuck off.” I spun around and went to go see the bouncers. I stormed through the building, my heart racing. My stomach was riddled with fear.

“Hawk?” When I found the giant Bloodshed vampire I was looking for, I tapped him on his shoulder. He looked down and smiled kindly.

“Scout. What are you up to?”

“I heard the drama.” It took everything in me to play it casually. Inside I was dying. I crossed my arms and cocked my hip. “I’m nosy. What happened?”

He laughed. “It was nothing that serious. This stuff happens more than you guys hear about. It was just a weird Bloodborn trying to get in without following the dress code.”

“Weird, how?” I asked.

“Sunglasses, Iron Maiden shirt. Boots.” He stuck out his tongue in distaste.

“Did he have a reservation?”

Hawk nodded. “Yeah, but rules are rules. No suit, no entry. I told him to come back tomorrow night with nicer clothes.”

“And he got angry?” I furrowed my brows in confusion.

“They always do. He tried to throw Ginata’s name out there, which was the deciding factor in turning him away. He tried to say she was meeting him tonight.” He gave me a pointed look. “And then tried to be all— you’re making a mistake. Ginata isn’t going to be happy. Blah, blah, blah. As if she had the time to fuck with someone weird like him.”

“Weird?” It was then that all the hairs on my head stood on edge. Nerves tightened around my insides, and I knew what he would say before he did.

“Yeah, the sunglasses. We got into it, there was some shoving, and his glasses fell off. Dude had one blue eye, one green.”

The world around me became blurry. I blinked, trying to process things.
