“It’s about damn time.” He laughed. “Me and Dante have been waiting all week. When are you coming over?”
“We have to shower and check out. Give us a few hours. We’re staying with you, right?” I wanted to clarify our original agreement. They often forgot things.
“Yeah, yeah. You sure you want your little lady staying under the same roof as us?” He goaded.
“Tully,”I growled, glancing back at Scout. She had gotten out of bed and was quickly undressing to head to the shower. My cock pulsed as I stared at her beautiful body. “Don’t start.”
“Whoa, I could say the same for you, buddy. I forgot what a temper you have.” He clicked his tongue, which only unnerved me more. Toulouse always had a way of getting under my skin. “Yes, I have rooms for you two to stay in and have your privacy. I even made sureit wasaway from the tables. Although I do insist you guys come check out the setup at least once.”
“Sure. Whatever, I’m gonna go. Text me the address, and we’ll see you soon.” I hung up quickly to join Scout in the shower. I needed to touch her and show her that I wasn't going anywhere, regardless of what she may have read in her cards. And neither was she.

Only minutes after coming deep inside her, we were dressed and checking out of the hotel.
“Can we do that again later?” I laughed, putting my arms around her and holding her close to my chest.
She giggled, and it was like singing directly to my soul. “I’d be down for that. Hopefully,Tully has a big enough shower.”
“Or maybe a bath. That could be interesting.”
Her eyes and smile grew wide with the idea, making me ready to go again.
We got into my car,and I typed the address into my GPS. Just as I was putting my phone up to put the car into reverse, I received a text from Corrine.
Corrine: Dante tells me you’re visiting New Jersey. Check your email.I have a few jobs for you.
I sighed deeply. I hadn’t planned on making this a working trip. I ignored the text and backed out of the parking spot to start the trek to Tully and Dante’s.
I didn’t have to do the jobs if I didn’t want to. For the most part, I could take or leave whatever I was offered. Unless I made a special deal with someone, but that was rare. I’d have to see what Corinne offered before I took the gig.
“You look irritated again,” Scout said, interrupting my brooding. I relaxed my brow and forced a smile.
“Sorry. I told you, being around those two makes me anxious. It’s mob mentality with them.”
“Oh really?” She smirked. “What, you turn into a burping, farting, frat boy?”
I laughed. She had no idea how wrong and right she was.
“Something like that. Remember—” I started, but she interrupted me with her tongue hanging out and blood-red eyes looking at the roof of the car.
“I know, I know. The Sins are not to be trusted. Even you.”
I patted her thigh and gave her the same sarcastic smile she was giving me. “Good girl.”
“Oh,don’t start that.” She warned with a look so sharp it caused a moment of silence before we both erupted in laughter.
“So,is there any reallast-minute advice you can give me about them?” she asked. I pressed my lips together and thought. It had been years since I’d seen them both in person. But time didn’t alter some things.
“I wouldn’t tell Tully anything specific about yourself. Like if he asks about something personal, keep it vague. He holds on to that shit,” I muttered. Flashes of harsh memories flew through my mind. I swallowed and continued. “As far as Dante goes, don’t….” I paused, knowing that anything I told her in warning would reveal what Sin he was. “Don’t talk to Dante.”
She started to laugh, but when she saw me not smiling with her,she frowned. “Seriously? How am I supposed to not talk to the reason we’re here? You don’t think that’ll look weird?”
“Oh,it will, but he’ll know why and as long as you stay with me,he won’t test it.”
“Gluttony, Envy, and Lust. Those are the ones left, right?”
My jaw tightened. “Yes.”
