Messing around with Dolo in the shower, my curls weren’t as popping as they were earlier, and it was going to take too much time to style it and get it right, so I was able to complete a perfect slick back bun look. I never thought that I would see the day where I would be standing in the mirror, putting in effort to style my hair. I literally used to throw a little water on my curls and go. Having a man really changed me. I’m talking, after the slick back was styled to perfection, I even added a little lip gloss to my lips. I’ve always worn perfume though, so I mixed a couple of scents tonight, and Dolo had been telling me how good I smelled since I put it on.

We walked inside of Maple & Ash. I knew nothing about this spot, but Dolo told me that Loco took Uzi here last weekend, and that the two of them really enjoyed it, so here he was, bringing me. It was steakhouse in downtown Miami. It hasn’t been here too long, so the hype was still high. That much showed the second we walked inside, and you could see how crowded the spot was. There was even a few people that were sitting around, waiting to be called for a table.

Dolo had reservations for the two of us, so when we walked up, he stood behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist, letting the hostess know about the reservations, and she politely told us to give her two minutes, and she would have us seated.

There wasn’t anywhere for the two of us to sit while we waited for our name to be called, so Dolo found a spot in the corner, where he walked us, and he posted with his back against the wall, pulled me right back into him, having my back crash into his chest, while he wrapped his arms around my waist again.

Eyes were on us. People weren’t even trying to hide the fact that they were looking at us. Dating a popular man in Miami could be annoying as hell. I have moments where I just want to go out with my man, blend in like everyone else, but that was damn near impossible. People were going to always stare at us. Then, you know that I got in my head, feeling like they were probably looking at me because of the video of me that was trending online.

“What you got a taste for?” Dolo asked.

I felt like he could sense that I was getting a little unsteady with all these eyes on us, which is why he was trying to shift, take my focus off that, while talking to me, and making conversation a distraction.

“I don’t know. I didn’t see the menu,” I told him, and he laughed in my ear, and then kissed it.

“When I wrote the letter for you this morning, I told you to look the restaurant up. You probably didn’t even read that shit,” he said, and this time, it was my turn to laugh.

“I did read it. I can probably recite that letter back to you because that’s how many times I read over it. It was so sweet. I just didn’t look the restaurant up because I had already made it up in my mind that I was going to turn it down. I thought we were going to be in the house tonight,” I said, and through my periphial, I could see him shaking his head at me.

It only took two minutes for the hostess to call us just like she said. The people that were still sitting around waiting probably didn’t have reservations because they had all been here before us, but we were called first.

Dolo let go of me, so that I could lead the way, but even as I walked, I had my hand reached back for him, wanting to at least feel him as we walked through this crowded ass restaurant. It felt like damn near all the tables were filled, and each table that we would walk by, all eyes would be on us. I was relieved once we finally made it to our booth. I went ahead, squeezed in, and instead of Dolo sitting on the opposite side of me, he chose to sit right next to me.

“Your waitress will be with you two very soon. Don’t take this the wrong way, but you two are a very attractive couple. Both are sexy as hell,” the hostess said to us. Dolo just flashed her that award winning smile, while thanking her, and then she walked away.

“We probably gotta bring her in the bedroom with us,” he said, and I knew that that was just something that he was saying to get a rise out of me.

The old Riot that didn’t know Dolo well enough would have probably snapped on him for saying that, but the new Riot that knows that he likes to say shit to me like this so that I could cursehim out, was just going to roll my eyes at him and talk a little shit.

“Don’t ever get any ideas and think that I’m the kind of bitch that you can bring another bitch into the bedroom with us. The second she even goes near that dick, I’ll kill her,” I was honest, reaching over, so that I could look at the drink menu. Granted, I wasn’t going to order anything, but I still wanted to look and see what they had.

“Nah. I’ll never do no shit like that baby. Threesomes not really my thing, either,” he said to me.

“But you’ve had them in the past?” I wanted to know.

“Yeah. Years ago, though. Like when I was 21- 22,” he said, and just the thought of that gave me the ick, so I groaned, while looking up at him, wanting to take the new Prada glasses that delivered this afternoon, and break these too.

“Change the subject. I can see this conversation is getting ready to go left,” I voiced, and he chuckled.

“Because you territorial as fuck. You get mad any time you hear about the life that I had before you,” he argued.

“I don’t get mad. I just don’t like to hear about it. When I hear about it, I start visualizing it, and I don’t like that. Dominique, you know for a fact that if I fucked other niggas before you, that you would feel some kind of way if you had to picture it. That shit would make you drop to your knees,” I shot.

“Shit, it probably would. Make my fuckin chest hurt,” he said, and I knew he was telling the truth.

Dolo said the craziest shit to me during sex, so I knew that a man like him wouldn’t be able to stand the thought of me giving his pussy away, even if it was something that happened way before him.

Our waitress eventually came over. She took drink orders for us. Dolo liked to get straight to the point with his drinks, so he ordered Hennesssy, while I opted for water. He put in anappetizer for us as well, ordering this seafood tower that this restaurant was popular for having, and he even asked me if I wanted to put an appetizer in as well, but I told him that I was fine, and I would just have what he was having, since it was big enough to share. From there, the waitress left, giving us a few minutes to look over the menu, which was good for me because I still didn’t know what I wanted.

“We can talk business for a little bit, or you want to keep it strictly date night vibes with us?” Dolo asked me, as I skimmed over the menu.

“We can talk business. What’s up?” I asked, wanting to see what he wanted to talk about.

“I been thinking about a lot of shit lately. One thing for sure, I can tell you right now that I’m nowhere near ready to walk away from the drug game. I’m in my prime right now. I make good money, but I feel like I haven’t touched nowhere near the amount of money that I can make for real, you know? One of the things that I’ve been thinking about is locking in with something clean. Loco been in my ear for years, telling me that along with the dirty money, I gotta be bringing in clean money too. Back when Loco was in the drug game, he started investing in clubs, and Uzi had the laundry mats, so they were straight doing that. If you had to choose a legit business for us that’s going to bring in money to match the dirty money, what would you say? I don’t want to do real estate, trucking, clubs, none of that shit. That’s been done a million times before. I want something different. Something that other niggas not out here doing,” Dolo shared with me.

I crossed my leg, and leaned back in the booth, thinking on what he just said to me, trying to see how I should respond. I thought about the business ventures that I knew he wouldn’t want to do, so that I could wing them out. I also though aboutthe ones that would make sense. Out of nowhere, an idea popped into my mind, so that’s when I turned to look at him.

“What about a private security company? I can see you running something like that,” I shared, and when I said that, it’s almost like the lightbulb went off in his head.
