“I went so hard because I don’t want anything to happen to you,” I got her to break, and that’s all I had been trying to do from the beginning.

“That was hard for you?” I asked her.

“It wasn’t,” she said, and I nodded.

“Then keep that kind of shit up. You don’t want anything to happen to me because of what?” I kept going, wanting to hear some more sweet shit coming from her ass.

“Because I love you. I wouldn’t want to do life without you,” she threw in a little something extra for me.

“I love you too, baby. You ain’t gotta be shit like anybody else. I’m a man, but I got feelings too. That lil nice shit that you say to me is enough to give a nigga a little boost in my day. I’m fueled by that kind of shit, especially when it comes from you,” I had to let her know, picking her hand up, and kissing it again.

She smiled at my words, and then we dropped it. I wasn’t going to keep nagging her about it. Plus, she already fulfilled her duties anyways. We were getting ready to switch gears anyways and go back to being business partners. I had a few moves tomake, and I wanted her right here with me, making those moves with me.

Chapter 5

Riot St. James

“You said you was riding with daddy tonight but look how you keep falling asleep” the sound of Dolo’s voice snapped me out of the quick sleep session that I’d taken in the car with him. I hadn’t even realized that I’d dozed off.

I looked at the time on the dashboard, and it was well after two in the morning. I had been road running with him all night, going around, checking on different traps with him, corners, and things like that, and now my ass was exhausted. Dolo told me earlier that he wanted me to spend the night with him at his place, so after checking on a few of his traps, he took me to Ari’s house, so that I could go inside, and pack a bag.

I packed all the things that I felt like I was going to need. I’d already told Dolo that I needed to be at Uzi’s class in the morning, no later than 6, and he told me that he would take me because he would already be up at that time. Here it was, only four hours until six, so I already knew that I wasn’t going to get much sleep tonight.

“Where we going now? Bae, I’m tired,” I whined, my arm still on the middle console because that’s where I’d dozed off.

I shocked myself when I called him bae. These days, he was baby, bae, and daddy whenever we would have sex. Sex would naturally bring out that cute little term of endearment. I never really said it in conversation, which is why I shocked myself when I said it. I could tell that I shocked Dolo too because he smiled at the mention of me saying that. I was glad that I said it though because he was just getting on me earlier, telling me that I was always mean to him, and rarely said anything nice. I really was trying, and I could only hope that he saw it.

“We gotta make one more stop, and then I’ll get you in the house. That’s cool?” he asked me, leaning over a little bit, and with my head still resting into the palm of my head, he was able to put his right hand around my throat, but he didn’t add any pressure.

He placed multiple kisses on my lips, as we sat here at a red light, and he didn’t stop kissing me until the light turned green. I had that feeling in my body again, reminding me that I was still a girl, even though I carried on and could be rough as hell. That feeling where I found myself smiling and getting butterflies in my stomach as he kissed me.

I sat up once he pulled away and started driving because I wanted to be alert and ready for wherever he was getting ready to take me. I paid attention to my surroundings, seeing that we were on 79thstreet. If I knew anything about this area, I knew that we were deep into Miami, but if I knew it on a deeper level, I knew that we were entering into dem 9 boyz territory.

I turned my head to look at Dolo, just to see if I could kind of read him. I couldn’t though. He drove, keeping his eyes steady on the road, his left hand navigating the wheel, while his right hand was no longer holding my hand, but he had it in the middle of my thighs. Just like I considered myself to be, I knew that Dolo was very calculated. I also knew that he liked to do things on his own time. I knew that he wanted his lick back on dem 9boyz. Their men killed some of Dolo’s men, and they shot up his car with the both of us inside. I knew that Dolo wasn’t the kind of person to sit back and allow something like that to slide. He would tend to it when he was ready, and from the looks of things, it looks as if he just might be ready now.

Dolo did a little more driving, and here we were, on NW 79thst & 27thavenue. If you knew anything about this part of Miami, then you would know that this specific area was typically busy, it was gritty, and it was known for having a lot of violence around these parts. When Dolo hit a turn, I already knew what he was doing. This corner was going to lead us to an old, worn-down strip plaza, and the apartment buildings back there were super old as well. This was a popular corner for dem 9 boyz. Everyone knew that this corner belonged to them.

“What are you going to do? I know where you’re going, but what are you going to do? Kill them?” I asked, just trying to see the kind of timing that he was on.

“Kill them? Nah baby. That’s too reckless. I mean, I would, but I got you in the car with me, and it’s not my plan to put you in harm’s way. I’m about to put them young niggas on,” he said it so casual, driving down the road, and we were inches away from where their corner was.

“Put them on with what? MBM?” I asked him, cocking my head to the side, looking at him like he was crazy.

“Yeah. I gotta do more than just wipe out the entire dem 9 boyz. I gotta take some of them niggas men. Ima pull up on them, find out how much them niggas making, up the price, and bring them over here with us. You know. The ultimate disrespect. The thing with young niggas, they typically don’t have any loyalty, so it should be easy for them to transition and come over here with us. They’ll make their decision based on money, and not loyalty. I know for a fact that my corner boysmaking more money than them. Once they know that, watch they bite the bullet,” he said, as if he had it down to a science.

I didn’t want to doubt what he was saying, or question it, so I just nodded my head, putting the ball in his court. Just in case bullets started flying our way when we pulled up, I still reached for my gun that was tucked in the back of my jeans, and I placed it down in my lap.

Seconds later, Dolo killed the lights on his car, and we made our way to the corner. There were about ten men that were posted out here. There was no secret the kind of car that Dolo pushed, so the second they saw it, each of them swarmed his vehicle, just like I knew they would. You had niggas that were standing in the back of the car, the sides, and the front.

Dolo didn’t look the least bit afraid, as he rolled his window down, and with a casual smile on his face, he looked at the young dude, who appeared to be my age, or a little younger. The young boy had a look in his eyes, as if he was ready to blow Dolo’s head off.

“You lost nigga? What the fuck you on, pulling up to our shit like this? We stay the fuck out of ya’ll territory so stay the fuck out of ours!” he spat. He was a dark- skinned dude, and you could see the anger written all over his face. Very handsome, but you could tell that he was one of the tough ones.

“Ya’ll stay the fuck out of my territory? Nigga, just the other month, ya’ll were in my territory, posted up on my block, making serves. Ya’ll killed my men and shot up my car when I pulled up. I ain’t been bothering ya’ll niggas. Ya’ll came looking for a problem with me,” Dolo let him know, not yelling at him or anything.

His voice was calm, talking to them as if this was just regular conversation. When he finished, the dude sucked his teeth, and he looked at Dolo as if he was stupid.

“That’s the game you playing, nigga? You really going to sit there, and act like you and your niggas didn’t shoot up the listening party that night? All night, you and your crew had been mugging us, and all of a sudden, shots came out of nowhere. Nigga, ya’ll started that shit. One of our men got popped that night. He recovered, but a bullet still hit him. That’s why we went on your motha fuckin block making serves and killing your men. Fuck you think this is?” he spat, and when he asked it, that’s when Dolo turned his head to look at me. It all made sense now.
