Then Helena looked at the woman at the counter and said, “I am with a very important client. Fuck it, tell them I am with my goddaughter. I am busy.”
The woman behind the counter smiled, then nodded.
And like she had all those months ago, Helena caused something inside of me to start to heal.

Years ago, I had wanted to get married at the Chateau Plantation because I loved everything about the architecture. The lines. The metal. The greenery.
But after only being able to wake up properly while I sipped my cup of coffee on the back of our deck, the view that lay out before us? This was where I wanted to marry the love of my life.
And one month later... in the perfect mermaid dress with a lace overlay, on Merlin’s arm as he walked me down the aisle, Saint married me to the owner of my heart.
Grey’s smile after he heard me say,I do, imprinted itself deep inside of me.
And... we might have started our honeymoon early, five minutes after Saint proclaimed us husband and wife.

And that something inside of me fully healed when I stared at the sea green water that spread out before me.
“Want a secret?” I asked.
He pulled me even tighter into his body. “Yeah, baby girl. Want all your secrets. You gonna give me that?”
I giggled, “If you play your cards right.”
He hummed, “Well, I’m damn good at poker.”
I giggled.
Then I sobered, and said, “You asked me once why I stared at you. Remember?”
He pressed a kiss to the top of my head and said, “Yeah.”
I smiled, then I looked out at the water, and shared, “Cause years ago, my family and I came here for vacation one year. And the water here mesmerized me. The color of it. The intricacies of it. The same color of your eyes.”
“Baby girl.” He said low.
I knew that meant something to him.
That it meant a lot to him.
Because he tilted his head to the side and buried his face in my neck.
I smiled as I stared at the water.
“Love you,” I said.
His lips brushed against the skin on my neck as he said, “Yeah, baby girl. Fucking love you too.”
Then I looked at the private beach we had rented.
Private.
Beach.
I smiled.
