She just rolled her eyes, “She’s fine,” she slurred, “Besides, she has you. She stole you from me. Fuck her.”
I shook my head.
And then I had one thought.
If one of Kacie’s enemies came after mine and Kimber’s kids, I looked at Grimm and nodded.
I stood there as I watched Grimm put a bullet in my sister’s head.
Then I turned my back on her and stalked out of the cellar.
And there she stood between Ophelia and Nola.
My light.
I had a lot to make up for when it came to her.
As I stalked toward her.
Her eyes never wavered from mine.
“I’m so fucking sorry,” I told her.
She nodded, “I know.”
“Kettle took care of the last man. You good?” Nuke asked her.
Kimber didn’t look at Nuke when she whispered, “I will be.”
Then she stepped into my space, wove her arms around my waist, and pressed her body into mine.
I let out a breath I hadn’t realized I had been holding as I wrapped my arms around her and buried my face in her soft hair.
“Long as he’s okay.” She said into my chest.
I squeezed her, “I will be.”

“How can I make it up to you?” I asked.
She smiled, then she said, “Ask me to be your wife.”
I stared at her. “You fucking serious?”
She nodded.
I smiled.
Then I bent forward and grabbed her around her waist and hefted her over my shoulder and stormed around the clubhouse, to my bike, and set her on her feet, then I said, “Get on.”
Kimber
“Where are we going?” I asked him for the millionth time.
“It’s a surprise,” he winked.
Then he took us home.
