“You can thank that junkie bitch.”
Day 349
“I haven’t told him,” I told Nuke.
He nodded, “Good. We met. She’s gone as soon as he gets out and we tell him.”
Day 350
“Don’t worry. He chose you a long time ago.” Wolf said.
Day 364
One more day, I mentally said.
Day 365
“It’s time.” I smiled up at the ceiling, flung the covers off, checked the time... perfect.
No normal person got up at four in the morning.
But today... I was anything but normal.
What I was... was excited.
Because my man was finally coming home...
And then... as I stood outside of the jail, guess who had the fucking nerves to show up.
“You are not here,” I growled.
“I was here a long time before you were bitch.” Kacie taunted.
“You won’t speak to her like that,” Kettle growled.
I felt my mouth drop open.
“Yeah... and what are you going to do about it? I heard all about you. You would never put your hands on a woman.”
“No. But he will,” Kettle growled as he pointed to Grimm, who was stalking our way.
His upper lip curled.
Would it be wrong to smirk?
Probably.
Did I do it anyway?
Yes. Yes, I did.
Because it was her fault that my house was set on fire last month.
And why I lost everything I owned.
And as Grimm hauled her away, I smiled.
‘We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.’
