“I’m not sure I deserve you, Christian.”
“That makes two of us, baby.”
I pulled her in my arms, snuggled close, and felt so damn content that I couldn’t wait for her to say yes, her heart and mind behind being with me.
Chapter 7
I glanced at my tablet, laying the background of trees and leaves, then got to working on the wood cutting block that was slightly to my right.
I had been asked to do some mountain man art, and I couldn’t help but think of the irony in this. They had painted a scene or two, and yet, this was far better.
Because watching him, I could get the proper look of the ax as it fell from his hand to the wood.
I could get the way his muscles twisted with each movement.
I could capture the look on his face, that wasn’t sexy, but it only added to the scene.
And all while doing it topless, well, yeah, sexy was what it became.
I licked my lips as I worked on his torso, my breath catching, remembering how he said that he wanted to do some of the pictures that I had drawn.
I didn’t think about it then, but I do now. So, trying to work on this piece with thoughts like that rolling through my mind was not fun.
Because every few minutes, I was shifting to try to ease the ache in between my legs.
Screw it, I think I was telling this man that I was ready for him. I just had to be. Because I was dying.
“You okay over there?”
I jumped as I heard him walking this way. I looked up at him, my jaw going slack at how amazingly gorgeous he looked. He was glistening with sweat, his arms were loaded with wood since I said I wanted a fire, and he was every inch a man.
“Yup, good,” I squeaked out. I did not want to get caught gawking, but that’s exactly what I was doing.
He grinned as he strolled past me, almost as if he knew I wasn’t telling him the truth. And I couldn’t say I blamed him.
I closed my eyes and leaned my head back, taking a few deep breaths to cure my crazy hormones.
Where the hell did that even come from? Because, honestly, I wasn’t that way with men. Like, sure, I wasn’t a virgin, not at my age, but damn, I really couldn’t recall when a man had me so twisted that I could dream of him like this and want him so fiercely.
“Damn, that’s very life-like.”
I snapped my eyes open and jumped, spinning around in the chair to look at him.
He grinned as he stood over me, his arms resting by his sides.
“Thank you.”
“This is what you were doing this morning?”
“Yes. I had a request for some mountain men art and although I don’t want to share you, you make a really good model.”
He kept looking at the picture then squatted down behind me, his hands resting on my shoulders and I felt every chill race over my body.
“Do you think the fans would love it?”
“Duh! Hello Christian, you look hot, trust me, everyone is going to want a piece of you.” I looked at the picture, making note of a few tweaks I needed to do. “You’re going to be a fan favorite; I just know it.”
“Will it make you a lot of money?”
