Past tense.

“I can’t do this anymore.”

Using what little strength I still have, I shove past him, and he doesn’t stop me. Maybe because he knows that holding me here won’t change the inevitable.

That he’s pushed me to my limit, and I’m more than fed up.

I’m done.

@QweenPandora:

Boy do I ever have a juicy tidbit of info for you lovelies tonight.

It’s late, but when news breaks, I’m on it.

Let me start from the beginning. We all know #KingMidas has been out on sabbatical, awaiting an update as to whether he’ll be returning to the field this season. Meanwhile, the Cypress Pointe Emperors had a phenomenal game, minus their leader.

That’s right, Reed Lawson led the team to victory, and the post-game celebration was hosted by none other than #SexyBeast.

Things were mostly lowkey and quiet… until #KingMidas rolled up.

This pic was sent to me by one of you, my loyal followers, and it’s clear he’s hardly able to stand on his own. But luckily, #PrettyBoyD was able to get him home in one piece.

Anyone else wondering how #NewGirl’s taking this?

I mean, this has to feel like deja’ vu for her, right?

Anyway, if I hear anything more, you know I’ll report back.

Later, peeps :)

Chapter Fourteen

Blue

For all I know, Hunter isn’t even home, but his apartment feels like the safest place to be right now.

Safe. As ifanyplaceissafe with Pandora around.

Still, beingherebeats involving friends, and it sure as hell beats having Mike and Scar asking questions. So, here I am, knocking on my brother’s door in the middle of the night.

I shift my bag higher on my shoulder as his steps thud on the other side of the threshold. My nerves kick up, and I calm myself by going over what I’ll say when he answers. He opens the door, one eye closed as the other squints when light from the hallway floods into his dark living room. He braces his forearm against the door frame, resting his forehead on it as he tries to get his bearings.

“Blue? What’s wrong? What’s going on?”

Guilt sweeps over me.Mynight’s ruined, now here I am, ruining his.

“I’m okay, I just… I…”

He sobers a bit, running his hand down his face and beard. Then, he steps aside. “Come in.”

The second I enter the apartment, I drop my bag and lower onto the sofa. Luckily, Hunter leaves the lamp off because the light coming in through the balcony is enough. For a while, I justsit there, not speaking, not finishing what I’d started to say out in the hallway, because I’m still trying to process it all.

The way my marriage is falling apart.
