“Fine. You’re taking Jarrid?”
“No, Sean today.”
“Okay. Stay safe.”
He kissed me briefly on the cheek and I grabbed my phone and bag, ready to leave.
“Hey, Myth Maker, I’ll be thinking about you all day. I had the best weekend.”
He dropped the towel he was wearing, his hard cock hanging impressively between his thighs. “And I’ll be thinking about stripping those leather pants off you later.”
The next few hours were lost to paperwork and replying to emails. I finalized the details of Alchemy Myth’s interview with Lauri, making a mental note to tell the boys about it, then Iagreed some press statements to be released and answered the emails stacking up in my inbox before there was a loud knock on my office door which was then thrown open.
“Princess,” Charlie exclaimed as he bounded toward me.
I couldn’t help but smile. “Myth Maker. Fox. What are you guys doing here?”
“Apparently, we’ve come to mess about with a new song, but given that Arch is still in America with Nee, it’s the first I’ve heard of it.” Fox raised his eyebrow as he looked in Charlie’s direction.
“What? You people keep telling me I should come in here more, so here I am. Now, girlfriend, do you want to come get lunch with us?”
“I thought you were heading to the studio?” I questioned.
“We need to eat… right? Fox?”
“Fine,” Fox sighed. “Fern, come with us. He’ll only sulk if you don’t.”
My stomach growled in reply. “Lunch would be good. There’s a place not too far away. I’ll call ahead and let them know we’re coming. They’re great at hiding bands, so you guys don’t get harassed.”
I made the call and then Charlie held out his hand, letting out a satisfied hum when I took it, entwining my fingers in his. “You wanna go public with me, Princess?”
I knew what he meant. No matter how discrete the restaurant was, being seen out with him in public would change everything. Someone was bound to see us together and take a photo they would sell. It was inevitable. I took him in. His short brown hair, the stubble that covered his face because he knew I liked it, the tattoos I knew hid under his tight black t-shirt, and the jeans that fitted around his thick thighs. My heart hammered in my chest at the feel of his hand in mine and it had nothing to do with nerves about being seen with him and everything to do withthe way he made me feel when I was around him; safe, strong, powerful, beautiful. But I must have paused too long because his head dropped and his over-excitable energy vanished, leaving him looking wounded.
“Sorry, I shouldn’t have put you on the spot,” he mumbled, releasing my hand and stepping toward the door.
“Hey.” I grabbed his wrist, tugging him back to me. “Let a girl answer.” Wrapping my hand around the nape of his neck, I pulled his lips to mine, kissing him hard until he groaned into my mouth.
“Gross. Get a room,” Fox cried, making fake sick noises behind us.
I pulled back, pressing my forehead to his. “I want to go public… if you’re sure.”
He nodded, the smile back on his face.
“Totally pussy whipped. Who’d have thought our C would be pussy whipped,” Fox laughed as Charlie flung his arm over my shoulder and we left, surrounded by the band’s security and Sean.
Lunch was fun. We ate fajitas while I filled the boys in on their upcoming interview, and what it would mean for their PR. We also talked about them playing at the Mercury Music awards that were coming up and the award they were presenting at it. We left the restaurant a couple of hours later, to a crowd of the press screaming for Fox and Charlie to pose for a shot, while yelling questions about where Archer was. We didn’t stop, but I couldn’t help my smile when Charlie took my hand in his, squeezing tight as we made our way back to the cars waiting to take us back to the office.
“I’m glad the world gets to know you’re mine,” Charlie murmured as he opened the door for me.
Fifteen minutes later we were back at the office and I pressed a quick kiss to Charlie’s cheek in reception before he took the stairs down to the basement with Fox and I took the elevator to the top floor with Sean behind me.
“Fern?” Sean followed me into my office, closing the door behind me.
I glanced up at him as I dropped my bag to the floor and collapsed into my chair, exhausted from eating so much.
“Hhhmmmm.”
Sean didn’t usually follow me into my office and that should have been the first sign that something was wrong.
