This time there was no holding my emotions back. “W-what?”
“Princess, did you listen to anything I said?”
“No… I mean, yes, but I thought you’d met someone else. My heart was breaking while you told me how amazing she was.”
His large hand cupped my cheek, and I whimpered at how much I’d missed his touch.
“I was talking about you. You protected me with Jennifer, you supported me to go to the police. Since I met you, you’ve accepted every bit of me and you’ve given me ways to cope, so I don’t feel so out of control. I feel like I’m a better man around you and you make me so fucking happy. I thought I’d been so miserable over the last six months because you hurt me with what you said, but it turns out that I was miserable because I wasn’t with you anymore.” His thumb dusted my lips. “I’m so sorry for having my head up my ass for so long.”
“I’m so confused,” I admitted. “I thought I’d lost you forever.”
He shook his head, lifting the box, so I was forced to stare at the obscene diamond ring he’d bought.
“So we’re clear, Princess. I love you. I don’t want to spend another second without you. I want to marry you, have babies with you. I want to grow old with you. Fuck, I’m not perfect. I’m hard work, I’m going to fuck up. I can’t change my past, but if you’ll have me, I will spend a lifetime loving you.”
I leaned into his touch, knowing that I wanted this man forever. “Yes.”
“Yes?” he whispered, as if he couldn’t believe I’d agreed.
I smiled so wide, my face hurt. “Yes, Myth Maker. I’ll marry you.”
Flinging his arms around my waist, he picked me up, spinning me around until we were both dizzy. When he set me down, he pulled the ring from the box, slipping it on my finger and lowering his lips to mine. “Now kiss me, Princess, because we have a whole lot of making up to do.”
“I love you,” I whispered.
“I love you too. I’ll love you forever.”
And with that, I kissed my myth maker and nothing had ever felt so right.
Epilogue
Charlie - 1 month later
We tried to get married the next day, but apparently, it’s not like you see in the movies. You have to wait twenty-nine days in the UK, so the minute we could, we tied the knot surrounded by our friends and family. That was earlier today and now we were off on our honeymoon.
“Myth Maker, where are we going?” Fern sat in the back of the car with a blindfold wrapped around her eyes.
After the wedding, we ate dinner and danced. Then I’d whisked Fern away in a private Jet Addi had arranged and now we were taking the hour drive to where we were spending the next month.
I pressed my mouth to her neck, kissing her soft skin as she gripped onto my jacket. “Not long, Princess,” I whispered as Iunfastened the button and zipper on her jeans she’d changed into to travel in, pulling them down along with her underwear. “I have thought of a way to distract you though.”
Pinning her thighs open, I groaned when I saw how wet she was for me and I couldn’t resist pushing her back and lapping my tongue through her wet folds
“Charlie,” she cried.
“I think you can call me husband from now on.”
She giggled. “I can’t believe we’re married.”
I pushed two fingers inside her, silencing her.
Fucking her slowly, I watched her react to my touch. Fern and I had been glued to each other's side since we’d gotten back together. My therapist pointed out that I’d found a safe place to be myself with Fern and I think she’d found the same in me. I wore my cage again, loving the peace and calm it brought to my life, and on some days Fern pegged me until I was a boneless mess beneath her, while on others, I took her so hard she could barely remember her own name.
I curled my fingers, rubbing against her G-spot, sending her over the edge as she bit down on her lip to silence her screams.
“I can’t wait to fuck you when we get to our destination, Princess, and then I’m going to sleep with my cock inside you every night for the rest of our honeymoon.”
She groaned, rocking her hips against my fingers. “Why not the rest of our lives?”
