“Take her phone, too. I don’t want anything left unchecked,” Thomas added.

He picked up my phone, and laptop before he started to unplug my computer. “On it Boss. I’ll be in touch.”

I pushed up out of my chair, obviously in the way. “Sorry to interrupt, but does someone want to explain what the fuck is going on?”

No one spoke until the four of us were alone again and the office door was closed.

“Thomas’ face softened as he looked at me. “We were telling the truth. To anyone who didn’t know you and how loyal you are to this place, it looks like you came here last night at 10 pm and sent that email, leaking your band’s album.

“But I was out last night… Jarrid was there with me. He can vouch for me.”

“We know,” Matt reassured me.

Thomas slipped off his jacket, rolling up his shirt sleeves, showing off the black ink that curled menacingly around his forearms. “We were worried if someone got to your computer then they could have bugged your phone or even this place. You have so many people coming and going, it would be possible.Your office was the last place we needed to check. We needed to make sure James wasn’t listening.”

“My guess would be someone hacked your computer. I mean, we did it to stop you from seeing all those hate emails and death threats you’ve been getting,” Sean replied, making Thomas’ head snap to the side.

“You told her?”

“Yes, I told her, and about the dark web threat.”

Thomas ran his fingers through his hair, his face turning murderous. “What the actual fuck, Sean? I told younotto tell her.”

“And I thought I was in charge these days, and I decided that she needed to know.”

“Alright, calm down.” I tried to disperse the tension building between these two armed men.

“Is your ex a tech genius?” Matt asked, ignoring the bickering. “Could he pull something like this off?”

I scoffed. “No. The dickhead could barely send a text. No, this isn’t him. He’s got help or is paying someone to do this for him. Either that or I have another deranged person I’ve pissed off enough that they want to ruin my life.”

“You’re not that annoying,” Sean muttered, then he winked, and I flipped him my middle finger.

“So what now?” I asked, looking between them.

“James has no clue we’re on to him. It’s only a matter of time until the dickhead shoots himself in the foot,” Thomas reassured me.

“Or, we track him down and shoot him in the cock.” Sean added, and I couldn’t help the grin that spread across my lips.

Chapter 33

Charlie

“Hey, you.”

I looked up from the piano to find an exhausted looking Fern standing in the doorway of my music room. “Hey, beautiful.”

“Thanks for the food. You possibly saved lives as I’d not eaten all day.”

Tilting my head, I smiled. “I know how you get, and a cinnamon bun can never be a bad idea.”

“You busy? Am I interrupting?”

I hated how vulnerable she sounded. “No, Princess. I’ve been working on a new song, but I’m almost done.”

“Play it for me?”

“You sure?”
