“No need to rush, though.” He leaned back and took another sip of wine. “We have all the time in the world–just like we will when I get you home.”

Oh? Heat flooded my core. I raised my glass. “Here’s to it being well worth the wait.”

Chapter Sixteen

Brennan

Iwalked into the courthouse. It had been a good day, and it was about to get better. We were finalizing our name changes today.

“Brennan?” Spencer joined me, wearing one of his fancy suits. “Can I have a word, quickly, before we join everyone.”

“Of course.” I hoped nothing had gone sideways–like my mother going after Compass BioTek.

She’d been very quiet; which worried me.

A giddy look lit up his eyes in a way I’d never seen before as he got out his phone. “I found it. Oh, she’s going to love it.”

“Grace’s house?” It’s all I could think of. Had I ever seen him this excited about something?

“Please excuse me for not running it through you, but it was perfect, and I knew that it would go fast.” Spencer showed me a listing on his phone.

I read it. Then re-read it. No. He didn’t.

Oh yes, he did.

“Spencer. This is an island.” An island in Greece with an airstrip and a dock large enough for a substantial yacht.

“There’s a house on it. It’s also a tiny island.” His look went self-conscious. “Is it too much? It’s too much. It comes with the yacht. My jet’s a little much for that airstrip unless we make some changes to it, but we talked about a pack plane, anyway.”

“She’ll love it. It’s exquisite.” It was a small island. But it wasn’t a small house. When exactly were we going to visit this island? We barely went to Evan’s cabin outside of his heats. Suddenly, were we going to not be a pack of workaholics?

Then again, would it be a bad thing? Really, both Spencer and I could step back from our companies, and they’d be fine. We justenjoyedbeing hands on. Wes and Grace had flexible jobs. Evan’s training for the Blanket Brigade also opened him up to more options, which just left Jett.

Spencer looked at me expectantly. “Is it enough? The house just looked like her, and I know she enjoys the ocean, so it made sense. Hopefully, it should be settled so we can run the paperwork through the Center, get everything solidified, and she can be pack.”

“It’s perfect.” Enough? Grace was getting her own fuckingisland.Who did that?

Never mind, this was Spencer, who was flying in a grill master, a band, and wine for his mating party because she wanted an elegant picnic.

“An island? Nice. I’ll probably get my retirement island nearby one day. It’s a good area, especially for taxes.” Riley appeared, in black fishnets, boots, and a skirt, purple top ripped and matching her lipstick.

Spencer nodded. “You gave me the idea.”

“I aim to please.” Riley grinned.

“Are you okay with all of this, Ri?” I wanted to make sure.

She shot me a look. “Name me up. Tattoo me. You’re stuck with me, fuckers.”

I pulled her to me. “No, you’re stuck with me.”

“Get off me, you alpha fuck.” She laughed, trying to push me away.

The three of us found the others. We met with the judge and changed our last names. Well, Spencer didn’t have to change his.

Relief filled me as I signed the form. Wow, I never thought I’d be so happy to not be a Morris.

“All set. Also, I now formally declare you the Thanukos pack.” The judge beamed at us. Okay, we still needed the paperwork submitted for Grace, but it worked.
