“If you’re hungry, I have snacks.” She took a couple of packages out of her duffle. Each one had a drink and a variety of semi-healthy snacks and was tied with a bow.

“Thank you.” I took the one that had my favorite color of vitamin water in it.

She put the others back and pulled out more cute packages. “Would you like a comfort kit? It sounds like you might be here for a few days.”

“These are adorable; did you make these?” They contained things like slippers, eye masks, toiletries, vitamins, and tea.

“My mate and I put them together. So, your mates were attacked on the beach. That seems scary.” She put the rest of them back after I selected one.

“It was–and not how I expected our beach day to end. But the past few days have been a shit show.” I sighed.

“Oh no. I’m so sorry to hear that. Would it help to tell me about it?” Liz offered.

I shook my head. “Not really.”

It was fucking weird–and that was without us learning that Grace was bornherethen somehow made it to another world with her biological mother’s evil twin, who was also an illegal designation.

“Can you get me information about Grace Ellington? She’s in the hospital, too, and no one will tell me anything. She’s probably in the Omega Ward.” I made a face.

“I knew there was an ulterior motive to my mate sending me here. She had her sneaky face on.” Liz laughed. “I’ll pay Grace a visit and report back.”

“Thank you.” Any news would be a relief.

“I’ll return.” She grabbed her bag and left.

I munched on my snacks and checked my phone. No Wes. But Jett and Riley were on their way.

“There you are.” Jett came in, looking tired.

“Spence.” Riley started crying.

“Hey, come here. Spence is going to be okay. His surgery went well.” I stood and wrapped my arms around her. Riley was still in her black vintage bathing costume and holding a stuffed bear.

Someone at the hospital found me a shirt and shorts because I came in wearing only swim briefs. It looked like someone had found a shirt for Jett.

“That fucking bitch. I’m going to destroy her,” Riley sobbed.

“We’ll make sure that Adriana pays for stabbing Spencer, and whatever the fuck she did to baby Grace,” Jett assured, rubbing her shoulder.

“Good,” Riley mumbled.

“I feel bad for those kids though, seeing their mom dragged off like that,” Jett added.

I’d tried my best to make sure that the little one didn’t see everything. But I’m sure she was still traumatized because she not only had a big sister she never knew about, but one of her mothers was the reason. Not to mention the older ones knew what was going on.

Shit, I hoped those kids got therapy.

“Do you know anything about Grace? Is she okay? They wouldn’t tell me anything.” Jett asked.

“No. But I think she’s awake. And pissed.” I rubbed my chest. “Someone from the Blanket Brigade is here, and she’s going to see what she can find out about Grace.”

Brennan came in. He’d already been wearing a shirt with his swim trunks when we’d left the beach. “Good. Grace should be next to Spencer, not in some other part of the hospital. They wouldn’t tell me anything about Grace, but I know that Spencer should be fine.”

“Good.” I sighed with relief.

“You okay, Love? They wouldn’t let me be with you, I’m sorry.” Brennan hugged me, squishing Riley between us.

“I’m right here, Fucker,” Riley grumbled, though she made no attempt to struggle out of his grasp.
