Grace giggled. “Always watching.”

She snuggled into me and dozed off, my knot inside her.

Finally, it deflated enough for me to slip out of her. Rolling off her and out of bed, I went into the bathroom, hoping no one minded. I used the bathroom and filled up her water bottle. Why was there a sock on the doorknob? But I’d leave it there.

I noticed the full-ass kettle setup they had on a shelf in the bathroom, complete with a brass teacup holder and basket of tea and instant hot drinks.

Yes, I’d make her some tea. I filled the kettle and put it on.

Everything was probably from that omega home store they spent a small fortune at recently.Spoiled.She and Evan were so spoiled.

Both of them deserved it. I loved that Evan was letting us spoil him more, something he’d pulled back on after Caroline.

And Grace? Yeah, with everything Rosalind put her through, all the neglect she suffered, she should have all the attention, blankets, stuffies, and love that she needed and wanted. It absolutely was a good thing that Rosalind was dead or there’d be some serious reckoning.

There didn’t seem to be any massage oil in the bathroom, and I didn’t want to go into Evan’s room without his permission. Setting the water bottle on the nightstand, I went down to my room while the water boiled in the kettle.

While we had a variety of oils, I wasn’t sure there was anything that she’d like. I didn’t have peach or vanilla which was what Evan always got for her scent-wise. I grabbed the lavender since it was relaxing, and one that was fresh and crisp, and went back up the stairs.

“Bren, where did you go?” Panic flowed through her voice.

I burst through her door. “Grace, I’m right here. I went to get something. Hey, I’m right here.”

She looked so small and worried on the very pink bed.

Kissing her, I put the oils on the nightstand. “I used the kettle in the bathroom. Have some water, and I’ll get your drink, okay?”

“Okay.” Looking anxious, she grabbed the bottle.

“I’ll be right back. Promise.” I kissed her again and went back into the bathroom.

Which one? I looked at all the teas and packets. Hot chocolate? Tea latte? Oh. This one. Opening the packet of instant apple cider, I inhaled the scent that immediately brought back memories of skiing with my dad and Katie as a child.

After adding water and mixing it, I carefully brought the cup back into her room. I frowned at the nightstand. There wasn’t a coaster. Well, hopefully it wouldn’t ruin the finish.

“I made that for you, careful, it’s hot.” I got back on the bed with her.

“Oh, apple cider?” She took a sip. “It tastes like paper packets of happiness.”

Paper packets of happiness?I loved that.

I put an arm around her. “Precisely. I’m not the biggest fan of hot chocolate, so I always got apple cider. Sometimes it was real apple cider, but usually it was this.”

“It’s perfect.” She took another sip.

“Could I interest you in a foot massage?” I held out the oils for her to sniff.

“Lavender is my favorite.” Grace smiled over her cup.

I put the other back on the nightstand. “Noted.”

Scooting down to the end of the bed, I took one of her feet. I put some oil in my hands and started massaging her feet.

“Mmmm.” Sighing, she took another sip. “You learned foot massage at alpha camp?”

“I did. We learned about all the pressure points that feet have. Which made for tons of jokes as we practiced on each other, because we learned about pressure points in our martial arts classes, too. The instructors are mates.” I worked her little foot over, watching her expression and body language as I tried to get all the right spots.

She giggled. “Sounds fun. Did you ever go to other camps?”
