Me

It’s okay. I can do my own hair and makeup.

My sisters will be here soon; they can probably help.

It really wasn’t that big of a deal. I was fine with it. But, I needed to get started. Verity and Mercy should have been here by now. I looked at my phone and all I had was a picture of Mercy’s face.Well, then.

The doorbell rang. Oh, that was probably them, and the selfie was anI’m comingtext.

I went downstairs. Riley, who wore a long black robe with feathers on it, makeup half done, beat me to the door.

“Get the fuck out of here, Agent Ass-face.” Riley stood there, hands on her hips.

“Who’s there?” I rushed over and saw Agent Weigmier there in a dark suit. “Hell no.” I went to close the door.

He caught it. “Please, Dr. Ellington, a moment?”

“I didn’t take the cat,” I snapped. While there were a few things I still didn’t recall from my time at the Temporal Authority, I did remember that black cat with the blue eyes. Yeah, I wish I had brought him back with me.

“I have what you requested,” he said quickly.

“What?” I’d requested something?

Puzzled, I looked past him to an older man in slacks and a shirt, standing in the middle of the walkway, looking at the house, confused.

“Oh.” I sucked in a sharp breath. “Riley, go get someone right now.Anyone.”

“Um, sure.” She scowled at Agent Weigmier. “Touch her, and I’ll rearrange your insides.”

Agent Weigmier nodded. “Noted.”

“That’s…” I gazed at the man with grey hair, olive skin, and Spencer’s eyes.

“Yes. He was released recently. Per protocol, he recalls nothing after leaving for work the morning that the Temporal Authority Enforcement came. He thinks that he’d been unconscious this entire time, as a John Doe, and we just recently figured out who he was, and now that he’s awake, are returning him to his family. Nick knows that many years have passed, but I don’t think he grasps it,” Agent Weigmier said softly. He turned. “Nick, don’t you wish to be reunited with your loved ones?”

“This isn’t my home. Where are we?” Nick Thanukos stared at me. “I don’t know you. I want my son and wife.” His Greek accent was much thicker than Spencer’s.

“Hi, Nick. You’re in Rockland. I’m Grace. We’ll see Spencer and your wife really soon,” I explained.

Shit. They did it. The Temporal Authority had actually released Nick Thanukos and brought him to me.

“Oh. But who are you?” Nick frowned at me. He looked so much like Spencer.

“I’m Spencer’s mate,” I replied.

His brows furrowed. “He’s not that old, is he? They say it’s been years, but has it been that many? How much have I missed?”

So much.Did they really have to punish him like that for saving omegas? He and Dr. K probably didn’t even fullyunderstand what they were doing and why it was considered wrong.

“He’ll be so excited to see you. Your wife, too,” I assured.

“Why are they in Rockland? Kim is in Rock Springs.” He rubbed his forehead.

I was pretty sure that Kim was Evan’s mom.

“Spencer lives here now. Ilena lives in Greece, but she’s here for a party. Please, come inside.” I opened the door wider.

Evan came running down the stairs. “What’s wrong?”
