“And that’s how you woo the fuck out of someone,” he says, placing an arm over his eyes and smiling with satisfaction.

Alittle later, we head back upstairs, and I take a bath filled to the brim with boiling water and an abundance of bubbles. I try to convince Sage to join me, but he insists I relax, so instead, I watch him shower, the steamy glass enclosure providing entertaining flashes of him washing his gorgeous body.

Once I’m dry and dressed in my pajamas consisting of a camisole and a pair of panties, all my worries and concerns return. I can’t stop seeing the blood all over Xavier’s arm, Colton’s eyebrow, and Vienna’s panic as she tried to rouse him.I know I’m not going to get any sleep without checking on them before I go to bed.

“I’m just going to check on the others,” I tell Sage, stopping my pacing and heading for the door.

He jumps up off the bed where he was reclining, scrolling through his phone, and grabs the other joints he brought back to our room.

“Good thinking. I was going to give them these, so we can go together.” He takes my hand and leads me out of my room and down to theirs. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them all in one after today. I glance briefly down the hallway. I’ve managed to avoid Gio so far. In fact, I don’t even know if he’s home. I’m surprised he wasn’t banging on my door as soon as he heard what happened—or maybe he doesn’t know, or he’s still pissed at me after this morning’s altercation. Whatever the reason, I’m grateful.

Sage knocks on the door as I bite my lip in anticipation. It takes a moment, but eventually, the door opens, and a sleepy-eyed Tristan peers at us.

“Oh my god, you guys were sleeping. I’m so sorry!” I’m horrified we woke them. Of course they are resting, it’s been a clusterfuck of a day.

“No, it’s okay, come in.” He steps back and gestures for us to enter. The room is dark, with only a light from the bathroom illuminating it. The bed is a mess of limbs and bodies, and Xavier and Colton haven’t even heard us enter. Both are out for the count on one side of the bed, slightly snuggled together. Vienna lies on the other side of the enormous bed with a space next to her. I guess that must have been Tristan’s spot. There’s also a rather large gap between each couple. They probably don’t want to disturb the injured ones.

“Tori, Sage, we were so worried about you. You weren’t checked over by the doctor. What if you aggravated your injuriesfrom the last accident?” Vienna throws back the sheets and starts to get up, but Sage is quick to stop her, putting a hand on her chest.

“Stay, beautiful. Tori and I are fine. We’re tougher than you think.” He smirks at her, and she blinks.

I’m not surprised, because that smirk is mesmerizing.

“Are you sure?” Tristan approaches me, looking me up and down, his gaze lingering on my bare legs before returning to my face. He studies me closely. “Your head hit my knee pretty hard. Are you sure you don’t have a concussion?”

I try to wave him off, but he won’t be deterred, so instead I try to distract him. I step forward, pressing my body against his. He’s shirtless and only wearing a pair of briefs, and there’s a lot of bare skin that brushes against mine. A shiver runs down my spine, and his concern turns to something more as his lips curve up in a small smile of approval.

“I’m positive. I’m hardheaded, just ask anyone,” I tell him, twining my arms around his neck. “How about you? How’s your knee? Did you ice it?”

He scoffs but puts his hands on my waist. “Please, I’m tougher than that. You barely left a bruise.”

“He iced it and bitched the whole time,” Vienna shares, and Tristan glares at her. Colton grumbles and rolls over, and Sage holds his hand out to Vienna. “Let’s go out on the balcony so we don’t wake the others.”

She frowns. “But we’re locked in.” The shutters are down over both the window and the balcony door.

He winks at her. “I’ve got the right touch.” He leads her over to the security pad on that wall, places his hand against it, and puts in a code, and the shutters roll up. Sage pushes the doors open, then he and Vienna move through them.

I unwind my arms from Tristan’s neck. “Come on, Sage has a smoke that will help you sleep.” I hold out my hand, and he takes it and lets me drag him outside.

“Fine, but I want you on my lap so I can check you over,” he bargains, and I smile.

“I’m okay with that.”

The balcony winds all the way around the top level, allowing access from all the bedrooms. There are chairs spaced along its length, but only two in front of this room. They are both chaise lounges, so Sage takes one and pulls Vienna into his lap, and Tristan does the same for me.

I make myself comfortable between his legs, leaning back against his solid, warm chest. He wraps his arms around me when I shiver, this time from the cool night air.

“Did the doctor see the other two?” I ask as Sage lights up the joint before passing it to Vienna.

“Yeah. Colton has a concussion and needed two stitches in his eyebrow. It was quite deep. Xavi has five stitches in his arm and pulled a muscle in his shoulder from where he stopped me from flying through the cab,” Tristan murmurs in my ear. “Vienna’s okay. Colton took the brunt of the impact on that side and has bruises all over his body to show for it, but she feels guilty as fuck and is being maternal about it.” He turns my head with one hand to look at the other two. Vienna passes the joint back to Sage and starts running her hands all over his body to check that he’s telling the truth about being uninjured apart from aches and pains. I roll my eyes, because his reaction is classic Sage. He practically preens and purrs, leaning into her touch, the bulge in his briefs growing rapidly.

“Babe, if you wanted to get your hands all over me, you only had to ask.”

He hauls her against his chest with his free hand and proceeds to kiss the shit out of her. I squirm in Tristan’s lap, because they look so fucking sexy. “You would make her night if you suggested that the two of you sleep with us to reassure her,” he murmurs quietly as Vienna and Sage break apart. He must not have been quiet enough, because Sage turns his attention away from the breathless goddess in his arms.

“That sounds like a pretty good idea.” He looks to me for confirmation. I want to say yes, but we still have some business to attend to tonight.

“We have that thing,” I remind him, and his face drops in disappointment, “but I can go on my own. It’s fine.”
