We put our order in and then find a place to eat. Easton looks around, seeming nervous.
“Hey.” I grab his hand. “You okay?”
“Yeah.” He nods. “Just... never been on a date, so not sure how to act. Stupid, huh?”
“You never went on dates with Taylor?”
“I mean, we hung out a lot, did date-like things, but to us it was as friends. I didn’t want to take her home and fuck her.”
“But you want to do that with me?” I grin.
“You know I do.”
When our order is ready, the server brings it to our table. “Fuck,” Easton moans. “This really is good.”
“So damn good,” I agree. With us both playing sports, we’re on pretty strict diets. But a date with this man is so worth the extra workouts I’m going to have to put in.
When we’re done, we head straight to the movie theaters, catching the seven PM show. It should end just in time for the big surprise I have for Easton.
We pick a horror movie, because the only other thing playing is a rom-com. Not that I wouldn’t watch it. Living with Mom, Rain, and Lilly, I've seen my fair share. Let’s be honest, Chase, too. I’ve never seen a man cry so much at sappy movies before.
The whole time, we can’t seem to keep our hands off each other. If it wasn’t for the fact that the place was packed, I’d have given him a hand job right there and then.
Instead, I settle for edging him all night, getting him needy for when I have my way with him, when we get home.
“That movie was good. Even had me jumping.” He chuckles.
“Yeah, but I totally saw that ending coming.”
“Same, but the fun is what happens along the way.”
“True.”
Today has been fun so far. Being with Easton is like being with an old friend. Because that’s what he was. It’s just like someone has taken little Bennett and Easton and aged them up.
We just click. I forgot about how easy everything always flowed for us.
“So, what's this big surprise?" he asks as we pull out of the parking lot and head onto the highways.
“My popcorn. Here you can have the rest.” I put the leftovers in his lap.
“Gee, thanks.” He laughs, eating a handful.
“But really, it’s a surprise. I’m not going to tell you.” I laugh.
“Fine.”
We drive a little bit longer, making our way into the Blue Ridge Mountains.
“Okay, this is getting creepy. What on earth would we need to be in the mountains, at night, to do?” Easton turns to look at me. “Are you about to tell me that all of this is a lie and really you hate me and are planning on killing me, and burying my body where no one will find me? Because I’m gonna tell you, that hardly ever works.”
“No.” I burst out laughing. “I don’t hate you. I do love you. And I’m not going to kill you. The guy I have tied up in the trunk of the car, on the other hand. What brings a couple together more than killing someone?”
His eyes widen. “You’re joking, right?” He looks over his shoulder to the back.
“You should see your face.” I snort out a laugh. “Yes, I’m joking.”
“You suck,” he grumbles.
