“You really do. And I love it.” I wrap my hands around his waist and grab his ass. “And I love you.”
“Is it weird that this isn’t weird?” he asks.
“A little.” I grin. “But I’m glad. It feels right.”
“Like we were meant to be.”
“Yeah.”
“I really am sorry for punching you in the face when you kissed me,” he mumbles, leaning in to steal another kiss. “I was a stupid kid.”
“You were a scared kid. Tell him I forgive him.”
His nostrils flare, and fuck, I feel the emotions, too.
We hold each other's gaze, letting everything in the moment sink in.
“I love you, Bennett,” he whispers. “I’m sorry it took me so long.”
“I’d have waited forever.”
“No, you wouldn’t have.”
“I would. I just didn’t know it until now.”
We kiss again, this time it’s pure, unfiltered love. We both whimper, desperately moving our lips together, until we’re forced to come up for air.
“We should get out of here and get you out of those clothes.”
“Fuck.” He groans, looking down at himself. “Yeah.”
I quickly get dressed, laughing and smiling every time we get caught stealing looks at each other.
This really is a surreal moment. I feel like a giddy kid with his first crush. Even better is that thisismy first crush. It’s the experience we never got to have.
When we leave the locker room, I’m surprised to see that my dad, Jax, is still here.
“Dad.” My eyes widen as they flick to Easton.
“Bennett. You’re still here... with Easton?” Dad looks him up and down, taking in his wet clothes, then at my wet hair.”
“Uh, yeah. I came by to talk to Bennett and slipped in the shower,” he quickly blurts out.
The corner of my dad’s lips kick up as he nods. “It ...happens.”
Easton’s face and neck are beet red, and I have a feeling he’s freaking out.
But he doesn't have to worry. If there's anyone in this world who wouldn’t judge, wouldn’t tell a word of his sexuality, it’s my parents.
“Anyway, we gotta go.” I grab Easton’s arm just above his elbow and tug him away. “See you tomorrow at practice.”
We climb into my car, and I grab a blanket from the back seat, then hand it to Easton as he starts to shiver.
“Thanks.”
The drive home is quick. When we get inside, we head straight to our room.
Easton changes out of his clothes and into something dry before sitting on his bed.
