“That’s because you haven’t given me a chance to ask you yet.”

He lowers down to one knee, and it feels like time has just stopped. My heart goes silent in my chest.

“I know it’s fast, princess. But I already feel like my time with you was stolen. I was led down a false path, but now I know the truth. And I know that I’m completely in love with you. So, marry me, Lauralyn. Let me spend the rest of our lives making up for all the wrongs of my past. Let me give you the life you deserve.”

The only thing I want is him. He could promise me the world and back, but all I want is to be loved by this man.

“Yes, Holt. Yes, I’ll marry you.”

He pulls me in and the kiss is unlike any that came before it. I can feel the love sealing our hearts together. Another memory being etched into my mind, but this one is the best one of my life.

“Just so you know.” He pulls back. “I’d kill the man before I ever let him touch you. There was no way I was going to send you off with him. No matter what. But he needed to think he was in control. And even if he walked away and we didn’t get the money, I still wouldn’t let him have you. You’re mine, princess. And I don’t share.”

Once again, I was wrong about this man. It’s time to let go of all my misconceptions. It’s time to start trusting my heart.

“So, the beefcake got scared, huh?” I ask Torch.

He looks past me over to the girl sitting on Hemsworth’s left, and his cheeks lift in a smirk.

“Bet your ass he did. That motherfucker was smart not to step into that ring.” Because he wouldn’t have made it out alive.

“You ready for this fight?”

He’s going up against two of the most dangerous heavyweights tonight.

“I’m always ready.”

His attention drops back to his task of wrapping his hands with tape before he puts on his gloves. It’s time for him to get in the zone. I clasp him on the shoulder, wishing him luck, and then I head back to my wife—who’s watching me closely.

Damn, I still can’t believe I get to say that. Hemsworth was a bit shocked too. He was expecting to show up tonight and spend the evening with her, but she’s a married woman now. I thought he’d be angered by the situation—being manipulatedinto signing the deal—but then he saw Lola, and his irritation turned to intrigue.

“You keep staring at me like that, pretty one, and I’m gonna have to take you into the bathroom and calm that little pussy down.” She hasn’t taken her eyes off me. Not even for a second.

“What are you waiting for, mister?”

Nothing. I’m not waiting for a goddamn thing to kiss my girl between her legs. I reach for her arm and snatch her off the chair. “Lola, would you mind keeping Hemsworth company while I go give my wife what she needs?”

My dear friend smiles, shaking her head. “You two are kind of sickening, you know that?”

Yeah, I know. We can’t keep our hands off each other. But we have to make up for all our lost time.

“I’ll keep the man company. After what you paid me, it’s the least I can do.”

She stands to make her way over to him, and I drag my girl straight to the exit. As soon as we’re locked in the bathroom, I’m on my knees, crawling up my woman’s skirt.

“This little pussy drives me crazy. Makes me so fucking hungry.” I bury my mouth right in her wet cunt, licking over her tight little hole. Sucking on her swollen clit. I can’t get enough of her. “You’re going to come for me. And then we’re gonna go back out there and watch that fight while I play with your sexy little ass.” I squeeze her cheeks and spread them apart, earning myself a whimper. “Remember the deal, princess. If Torch wins, this little thing is mine.” I press my finger to her forbidden spot, rubbing her as I lick through her folds. She buckles in my arms, coming unglued before I’ve had my fill. But the night is still young. She’s going to give me more.

“You’ve ruined me, Deuce.”

“How’s that, baby?” I slide her skirt back in place and stand, admiring her flushed cheeks.

“Because all I can think about is you. I can’t concentrate on anything else. I can’t even study anymore.”

She’s not the only one struggling. I risked this deal because of how far gone I am for this girl.
