We just were together a few hours ago. I need sleep or else you are about to deal with an angry bear. How about tomorrow?
Kade Romano:
I guess I will let the bear hibernate. Come to my office at lunch tomorrow and bring something nice to go out in after work.
Me:
So bossy, Mr. Romano
Kade Romano:
You weren’t complaining about my orders this morning.
I blushed at the thought of Kade taking control of me. Desire rushed to my core as I pictured myself bound by his belt.
Me:
Good night, Mr. Romano
Kade Romano:
Sweet dreams, princess
I put my phone on the charging port and took a shower, letting my worries wash down the drain.
TWENTY-SIX
EVELYN
I walked into the Hive in a black dress and red stilettos. I didn’t like the idea of having to change after work, so I went for something that was sexy yet professional. I sat down at my desk and slipped on my red Snoozie slippers, refusing to let my feet suffer all day.
“So… how was it?” Ollie asked with a huge smile on her face.
“Girl, the number of sexy men we typically meet at these conferences are unreal! Please tell me you got some!” Lennie chimed in with an equally contagious smile.
I couldn't tell anyone the truth. “No, I didn’t get any, but I saw some fine men.”
“Morning, ladies,” Jax said with a smile as he sat down.
I turned to the girls. “Did he have a brain transplant?”
They both laughed. “No, he got laid so the stick up his ass is gone,” teased Gwen as she walked into the Hive. That earned her the middle finger from Jax.
The morning went by in a blur and before I knew it, I received a text from Kade.
Kade:
My office in 10 minutes.
I excused myself from the Hive and meandered to Kade’s office, smiling at his assistant before knocking on his door.
“Come in,” a deep voice said.
I opened the door and closed it behind me. Kade sat at his desk with his black-rimmed glasses on. Kade with glasses was by far my favorite. I bit my lower lip.
He turned his eyes up from the papers that were scattered on his desk and clenched his jaw as he dragged his gaze the length of me. He curled his pointer finger, signaling me to go to him.
“Come here.”
