Besides, with the way my dick was fucking dying to be inside her, there was no way I could keep that rule tonight.

“We’re going to have to be careful.”

She smiled. “And quiet.”

“Ben’s room isn’t above mine, and the boy could sleep through a fire alarm, but yes, I would prefer it if there wasn’t any screaming.” My hand moved up to her chin. “Are you a screamer, Emily?”

“Depends on how talented you are.” Her eyes narrowed. “What kind of superpowers do you have, Mr. Worthington?”

“They’re going to shock you.” I chuckled. “And you’re really going to have to hold it in.”

“Sounds like someone is confident in his abilities.”

She was a challenging one.

Fuck, that turned me on.

“I’m going to be the best fuck you’ve ever had.”

She leaned in to my face but didn’t put her lips on me. “Prove it to me, Gavin.”

I couldn’t stop myself from smiling. “Here’s the deal. I’m going to have to lock my bedroom door. If Ben knocks, we’re going to have to stop, and you’re going to have to hide. The where-do-babies-come-from talk with my son isn’t happening any time soon.”

“Understandable.”

“So if I send you into my closet, you’ll be good with it?”

“It’s like being in high school all over again and your parents come home unexpectedly—but kinda worse.” Her front teeth teased her lower lip. “Of course I’m good with it.” She fanned her fingers over the whiskers of my short beard. “Lock me up. Make me force myself not to scream.” She rubbed those same lips together. “I’m ready.”

Those words, in her voice, were painfully erotic.

So I wasted no time, lifting her off the counter and tossing her over my shoulder, her stomach the bending point, where her front half was hanging over my back and, from her waist down, she was folded across the front of me.

“Gavin!”

I held her thighs as I walked us out of the kitchen, through the living room to the other side of my condo to the primary bedroom wing.

“I already have you screaming and I’ve barely touched you.” I was smiling, she just couldn’t see it.

She banged my ass with her fists. “That wasn’t a scream. That was me being surprised that you picked me up so easily.”

“Emily, I squat double what you weigh. Maybe triple. You feel like nothing in my arms.”

“Says no man ever—except you.”

I shut my bedroom door and locked it, moving over to the bed, where I set her on the edge. She held on to the lip of the mattress with both hands, staring at me while I pulled off my shirt, tossing the long-sleeve on the floor.

She waved her hand in front of her face. “I’m not going to visually survive this.”

“I’m not even naked yet.”

“And I’m already dying and overheating.”

I pulled at the drawstring of my sweatpants. “Do I need to cool you off?”

“As in a shower?” She nodded. “I’m already envisioning your skin all wet and bubbly and—I can’t even. Yes, please. I want that.”

My only worry was Ben. If he knocked on the door, I wouldn’t hear him if we were in the shower. If he was going to wake up, I didn’t think it would happen any time soon, but I just never knew. Which meant we had to be quick.
