ASHER
There’s no way Michelle wants to call things off with my brother…
I leaned against the edge of my couch, completely confused about how quickly I went from aroused to defeated within two minutes of talking to Katie.
Still in disbelief and determined not to help with this, I picked up my phone and called Chris.
It rang once.
It rang twice.
“Hey, Asher,” he answered. “What’s up?”
“Just checking in on your wedding, that’s all.”
“Well, that’s a pleasant surprise.” There was a smile in his voice. “I saw that you only requested a ticket and hotel for the end of the second week through the third. That’s far more days than Michelle and I were expecting, so thank you.”
“You and Michelle are on good terms?”
“I would hope so.” He laughed. “It’d be odd if we weren’t, right?”
“Yes,veryodd...”
“I teared up while we were doing our final photoshoot on the Hudson River today,” he said. “I can’t believe I’m weeks away from being the luckiest man in the world. Can you?”
“I’ll call you back.” I ended the call, unable to think straight.
Push up my flight to Punta Cana.
I’m staying the entire three weeks now.
Kelsey
Can I still stick to being there for just two weeks?
Absolutely.
When you’re done with the flight, call me and remind me about the last favor I did for Katie.
Give me five minutes…

“My mother-in-law hates dogs.” The bride-to-be looked at me. “Can you make sure Piper and Penelope are nowhere near here today?”
“Of course.” I nodded and bit my tongue. I’d handled this issue already, and this was her twelfth time mentioning it this morning.
Well,twentiethtime if I counted yesterday’s mentions…
