“Did you take that picture on his social media?” Jo asked.
“Uh—”
“Yes, he did and a lot of other ones, too. They were all as good as the one he posted,” Iris said immediately.
“I just take pictures as a hobby,” Beau said, looking red.
“Well, I've seen your Instagram and it’s more than just a hobby,” Jo said. “You take amazing pictures.”
Beau looked like he was bracing himself for something. The distrust in his eyes made me wonder what was going on.
“That’s nothing; Beau has an eye for beauty,” Iris said, looking at Beau fondly.
Beau flinched like he had been slapped.
“Oh, don’t act surprised; I know those photos in your house are all you,” Iris said. “He has a collection of black and white ones that are absolutely gorgeous.”
A pang of jealousy hit me, I had yet to see what she was talking about.
Jo nodded, pulling out a business card. “Well, I’m always in need of an amazing photographer, even though I run a business solely of women, I think I’d make an exception just for you.”
Beau hesitantly took the card. “If you want a woman?—”
“He’ll be in touch,” I growled, glaring at him.
Jo studied me for a moment, giving me a hint of a smile before turning to leave.
“I’m doing extensive background checks on everyone, just precautionary so if you'd like to tell Nash something, this is your warning,” she said, walking out like she had just said good evening.
“Damn, I don't want to like her, but I actually do,” Iris said.
I laughed, flinching when the pain spiked on my side. “Fuck,” I grimaced.
“Drink up those pills and let's order some food,” Beau said, putting Jo’s card down before looking at it for a second longer.
We spent the rest of the night lounging on the bed, watching rom-coms and action movies until we passed out from over-consumption. I woke up in the middle of the night, uncomfortable, but ok when I saw the two people who had made this trip a hundred times better. I was not only falling for my wife, but for the hot man she was friends with too. I should be panicking except nothing had ever felt more right.

My back hurtas I mopped the floor of the bar. The crowd was too energetic tonight and I had done three rounds on the mechanical bull. I was over it by the second time, wishing I could get cut early, but with how packed the bar was, I knew that wasn’t an option. So here I was at twelve-thirty on a Thursday trying to get home quickly.
“Almost done?” Iris asked, looking beat too.
“Yeah, just got to get this section and I’m done,” I said, mopping quicker.
“Great, I’m finished,” she said, wiping her forehead. “I’ll grab our stuff and we can get the fuck out of here.”
“Great,” I said, admiring her for a minute before getting back to mopping.
“Iris!” Joe yelled. “Office. now.”
“Uh oh, someone is in trouble!” Debbie grinned.
Iris glared at her, walking into Joe’s office.
“What’s that about?” I asked Mindy at the bar.
