Headingto a rodeo with Nash sounded fun when he asked. Now that I was packing, it felt strangely intimate, the only thing that was making me not cancel was the fact that Beau was coming with us. If it was just Nash and me, I would have felt like a rodeo wife. Would that make me a WAG? I shouldn’t even be thinking about this. We weren’t married in the traditional sense, so it didn’t make sense.

A knock on the door made my stomach churn with nerves. This was just a fun trip with friends… friends that I’ve slept with, friends that have made me cum… lots of times. Oh god, I hoped this wasn’t a mistake. I zipped up my luggage, making my way to the front door.

I opened the door expecting Nash, but Beau stood there in jeans, boots, a button-down and a cowboy hat.

“What do you think?” he asked, holding out his hands.

He looked handsome with a little stubble growing in and I loved that he had dressed like this.

“You look hot,” I said, fanning myself. “All the Buckle Bunnies will be asking who the hell you are.”

“Buckle bunnies? What the hell is that?” he asked, walking in.

“All the women who wish they were rodeo wives,” Nash said, coming in behind Beau.

“You know, like Puck Bunnies,” I said, giving him a reference he would understand.

“Oh, huh. I didn’t think you would have a fan base,” Beau said, grabbing my luggage.

I laughed as Nash scowled. “What the hell does that mean? We are a professional sport too.”

“I—I didn’t mean it like that,” Beau stuttered.

“Oh, calm down. Yes, we know you’re a professional, and yes, you have crazy women wanting to get into your pants,” I said, patting Nash’s chest.

Nash grabbed me around the waist. “I’m very desirable.”

I narrowed my eyes wondering where he was going with this.

“So, I better see you and Beau attempting to sneak out back or make signs for me.” He bit my shoulder.

I laughed. “I will not be acting like a desperate Buckle Bunny.”

“Iris has too much class for that,” Beau said, walking by us. “Plus, she’s got me.”

He winked as he left out the door.

“Cheeky little shit. Come on, wifey, let’s get on the road,” Nash said, spanking me as he followed Beau out the door. “Oh, hey. Did you get things settled with my father?”

“I’m waiting for my realtor to get back to me about that piece of land,” I said, grabbing my purse and the snack bag I packed.

“Ok, can you let me know what she says?” he asked. “I want to help if I can.”

“Thanks, Nash. I appreciate it,” I said, grabbing my keys to lock up.

This truce was weird, but I was glad his father needed something. I felt lighter, and this burden I had been feeling lately was almost nonexistent. I was coming to terms with moving forward and that might be without my family's farm.

The crowd went wild as Tanner Shiloh held on for eight seconds. He was a crowd favorite Bronc rider, and he had been in the circuit for years. I had seen him when Nash came to Monroe last year, and had heard of him when I was in Texas.

“This is insane!” Beau yelled, as people sat down. “I didn’t expect it to be like this.”

“Welcome to the rodeo, baby!” I yelled.

Beau looked around in awe and I liked to see him taking everything in.

“When does Nash?—”
