Beau chuckled, shaking his head. “Nah, that's not work; that's stress relief.”
I chuckled, rubbing his back.
“Am I missing something?” Nash looked between us.
I grinned, realizing Nash didn’t know about Beau’s extracurricular activities.
“Our Beau here is famous,” I said, pinching his cheek.
Nash raised his brow.
“I cam on the side.” Beau shrugged. “Yeah, just stressing about things I have no reason to be stressing about.
He put his head on my shoulder.
“I’m sorry did you say you cam, like you perform on camera?” Nash looked perplexed.
I chuckled. “Has his face on the website and everything.”
“And what website is this?” Nash pulled out his phone.
“I don’t think I want you looking?—”
“Just type in Beau cam boy in the search bar and it’s the first website,” I said, as Beau leaned up, looking at me in shock.
“Iris, please don’t tell me you've watched me,” Beau said warily.
“Hey, guys, what can I get you to drink?” The waitress interrupted, thankfully.
We ordered our drinks and our food since we all knew what we wanted.
“You want to talk about what's bothering you, Beau?” I asked when she left.
“Why are you all dusty?” He looked us up and down, changing the subject.
“We got caught in the storm,” Nash said. “We weren’t expecting it so soon and we thought we would have time. I left Mrs. Robbins’ horses out in the pen to graze while we didsome chores and unfortunately that backfired. When no one was there, the wind kicked up and knocked the gate out. It was a fucking mess. Iris had to save the day and retrieve the horses.”
“You guys were out in that?” he said, pointing outside.
“Yeah, it was a mess,” I said, wanting to dust off enough of the dirt I thought I had patted off, but it seemed I had done an awful job.
“Jesus, that’s scary. For a moment you could barely see across thestreet.” Beau looked more awake. “Is everything ok now?”
“Yeah, they will fix the barn and gate when the storm passes, but we have all the animals safe in the barn, even if it’s a little windy,” Nash said.
“I’m glad you guys are ok,” Beau said, grabbing my hand.
“Yeah, we are good,” I said, squeezing his hand. “At the ranch, we watch out for each other. Nash went out and helped me with the horse and brought something for me to cover my face, since I left quickly.”
Beau looked between Nash and me. “So, I take it things are good between you guys?”
“Tolerable,” I grimaced.
Nash rolled his eyes. “Things are fine.”
Beau nodded, looking uncomfortable.
“Ok, what the hell is wrong with you?” I asked, getting worried.
