When it was my turn Webber and I switched places. I missed my shot, taking my place behind Jude when I noticed he was squirming a little and lookinga little flushed.
“I’ve missed you!” A woman’s voice caught my attention as she hugged Webber.
“I’ve missed you too, Florida,” he said, giving her a hug.
“Damn bro, we missed you too. It’s notthe same.” A gorgeous, dark-haired man hugged him and so did a blond man.
“Practices aren’t the same,” the blond said. “Hell, traveling isn’t the same.”
“Aww, y’all gonna make me cry,” Webber said. “I miss you and playing too.”
“Fuck man, I can’t imagine what that feels like,” the blond said.
“Like I fucking lost a limb,” Webber said immediately.
The trio hugged him again and it made me like his friends more.
“Jude! How are you?” The woman came up to us.
“Valencia, I’m good and you?” he said, giving her a hug.
“I’m good, just working my ass off,” she said, glancing at me.
“Hello, I’m Forest,” I said, holding my hand out.
“Valencia,” she said, looking between me and Jude curiously.
“Forest works the ranch with my brother,” Jude said.
“Webber’s been helping out and invited me out to see a game,” I said. “I had never been to a hockey game before.”
“Well, once you see the boy aquarium, it kinda hooks you,” she grinned, and I laughed.
“Jude it’s good to see you.” The dark-haired man hugged Jude, and I tried not to growl or scowl.
“Gomez, good to see you too,” he said, pulling away. “This is Forest.”
“Hey, man. Nice to meet you,” he said, holding his hand out.
“Nice to meet you,” I said.
“Y’all together?” he asked.
“Ro, you could have waited.” Valencia slapped his shoulder.
“We are Hispanic, chismosos and nosy as hell,” he shrugged.
Webber, Jude and I had never discussed what we would tell people and it had never crossed my mind.
“We don’t know what it is, but we are having fun,” Webber said, answering for us. “And no, we aren’t answering any more questions. I gave you space when you were going through your stuff, so you need to give methe same courtesy."
“Te dije,” Valencia said, elbowing Gomez.
“Excuse my nosy boyfriend,” she said, with a gorgeous smile.
“He’s not house-trained yet,” the blond said. “Hey, Jude. Hi, my name isHunter or you can call me Riggs.”
“Nice to meet you,” I chuckled, shaking his hand.
