Three women.
All of them staring.
All of them looking like they just walked into the wrong damn house.
Behind me, I feel Hadley move.
“Mom? Irene? Stella?” she gasps. “Oh my Gods—what are you doing here?”
She scrambles up behind me, grabbing the throw blanket off the couch and wrapping it around herself, pressing close to my back.
My protective instinct?
Through the roof.
“Your employees told us where you were,” the older woman says smugly.
Me?
Yeah. I’m pissed.
Also, still very much not dressed.
Don’t care.
Let ‘em look.
They’re going to face more than my junk if they don’t leave my fucking house.
“Um, Hadley?” the guy says, eyes wide, like he doesn’t know where to look.
I take one step forward.
“I don’t think so, pal. Back the fuck up. Now, who the hell are you people?” I growl.
Hadley groans softly behind me.
“Shit—um—Rob—this is my mom,” she rushes out. “And my sisters—Irene and Stella—and that’s—uh—my ex.”
My head snaps to the guy.
The ex.
Judd the Dud.
I size him up in half a second.
And immediately, decide I don’t like him.
Like at all.
“Get out of my house,” I warn.
“Hadley!” her mother snaps, stepping forward like she owns the place. “What is the meaning of this? I told you Judd was willing to take you back and you go and sleep around with some—some—big alley cat!”
My lip curls.
Oh no, she did not.
