Mason ran a hand over my bare ass. “I’m so happy I could be here for your first time. It really feels good not to be encumbered by Lycra. I like the way the water feels against exposed nether regions.”

I laughed and continued to watch the sun drop into the ocean. We took in the sounds of the rolling waves, relaxing us both.

“Are you having a good time, Tommy?” There was apprehension in his voice.

Turning my head, I lay it down on my arms. “Yes. Are you?”

“The best. I wanted to spend some time with you before the season starts. It’s going to get crazy.”

I sighed. “I know, sweetheart.”

Mason gazed at me. “Have you made a decision about your job offers?”

Now it was my turn to sigh. “I have eliminated one. The job in L.A. is a no. Being stuck in an office all day isn’t what I want anymore. Things have changed.”

“For the better, I hope.”

I smiled. “For the best.”

“What about the other two options?”

I blew out a breath. “They are both very attractive. I love the idea of being with you all the time on the road, and it will definitely make it easier to pay off my mortgage. But working for myself is also attractive. I would have more flexibility in scheduling, and I could take the jobs I want. I’ve got my savings in case clients become scarce. But I think I could make it.”

Mason stared at me for a long moment before he spoke. “What if the mortgage wasn’t an issue? If you took that off the table, which would you choose?”

“But it is an issue.”

“What if I could make it go away?”

I frowned. “You’re not paying my mortgage off, Mason. I know you have money, but that’s not going to happen.”

He turned his body to me, then took me in his arms. “Hear me out, okay?”

I tilted my head to the side. He was not paying off my house. But I needed to hear him out. “Okay.”

“What if you moved in with me? My house is paid for, and you can sublet your apartment to make the mortgage if you don’t want to sell it. Think about how happy we could be. We spend almost every night together as it is. You come home from work and pull into our garage. The girls are outside sunning themselves on the deck. We go to bed together every night, and start every day together. No more driving across town, no more deciding which house we’re staying at. And one day, we’ll getmarried and start a family of our own.” He pulled me closer until our cocks were jockeying for position. “Say yes to our happily ever after.”

Mason’s lips found mine as we held one another. I wanted everything he just said, but could it be that easy? When he pulled back, he placed his forehead on mine. “Please, Tommy.”

Closing my eyes, I listened to my heart for the first time in my life. I couldn’t deny that what he said had become my dream too. A life with Mason was everything I wanted. “Okay, sweetheart. Yes. I’ll move in with you. On one condition.”

He looked at me warily. “What’s that?”

“You have to agree to never paint a baby’s room brown.”

Chapter 28

Mason

“Are you okay, sweetheart?”

I was a nervous wreck the closer we got to my house. The one that would soon be our home. But this time, it was a good nervousness.

“I’m great. How about you?” I couldn’t wait for him to see what I’d done.

He raised a brow. “Are you sure?”

“Yes, I promise. Just anxious to get there.”
