His phone vibrated in his pocket, and he stopped to pull it out. The smile that broke across his face meant it could only be one person. Dominick.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see the same one on mine when Adam called, but neither of us was ready for that conversation.
“I gotta take this. I’ll check in with you later,” he said, holding the phone up to his ear as he walked out the door. “Hey baby,” he said as he made his way out of the office.
Before getting back to work, I opened a new browser window and did a search for apartments for sale in Portland. I wish he’d buy a place in a gated community, but the commitment involved in buying a house might not be his thing yet.
I searched, quickly eliminating ones without a twenty-four-hour door attendant, as well as the building Cooper and Greg lived in from the list. I printed it out and tucked it away to show him tonight over dinner.
With the growing fame of Fallen Angel, I’d feel better if we lived in a building that was more secure, and he might be more relaxed.
Definitely something to talk about.

“You needto hurry up and get ready, Rockstar. We’re actually leaving the apartment for this date.”
Adam smirked at me over his shoulder as I closed the door, locking it behind me. “You’re the one who derailed my date night.”
I smiled at the memory as he kicked off his shoes and tossed his leather jacket over the back of the sofa. Next, he stripped off his shirt, only to toss it on the floor. He unzipped his jeans and began taking them off too, knowing I would pick them up because this particular habit of his made me crazy.
He was naked before he made his way down the hall, and I admired his fine ass as he stopped and stroked his now-hard shaft while I watched.
“Like what you see, Michael?”
It occurred to me that the clothes had been a wordless invitation to join him in the shower.
Taking off my shoes and coat, I stalked down the hall after him, peeling off my clothes as I went.
Adam grinned at me as he continued to stroke himself. “Works every time,” he said.
“Better be careful what you ask for, Rockstar.”
His eyes glistened as I made my way to him. “I’m asking for you, He-Man.”
When I reached him, I took him in my arms and kissed the fuck out of him before getting on my knees and taking him apart in the hallway.

After we were showeredand redressed, I took Adam by the hand and walked to the car. I opened his door, and like a good boyfriend, I helped him inside. Leaning closer, I gave him a sweet kiss before closing the door.
“We could have stayed in again,” he said as I climbed in and started the Tahoe.
“Oh, no we couldn’t. We’ve got reservations for the Pub Ghost Tour.”
Adam’s eyes lit up. “I love scary shit. I’ve always wanted to go on one of these, but Cole wouldn’t go without Patrick, and yeah. This is great!”
I beamed under his praise. “I’m glad you like the idea, babe.”
If it bothered him for me to call him that, he didn’t show it. “Do you think anyone will recognize me?”
I glanced over at him as we made our way to Old Town. “Probably. We need to sell our relationship to the public, so I thought this might be a fun way to do it.”
Adam grinned even wider. “Are we going to eat before we go?”
“Well, we were before we got delayed again,” I teased. “But I figure we could eat afterward? We’re supposed to stop at four or five pubs and sample the local brew. So I’ll take you wherever you want to go later.”
He reached over and put his hand on my thigh, where I laced our fingers together. “Thanks, Michael. This is going to be fun.”
