“No?” I asked, slipping my free hand under his sweater and grinning at the shaky breath he let out as I tugged on his shirt. “Because I’ve been thinking about this since you dropped by yesterday. And I dreamed about you.”

“Was it a sexy dream?” Milo asked.

“Well, you were in it,” I said. “So I’d say pretty sexy.”

Milo laughed, and I couldn’t help kissing him again. I couldn’t stop thinking about him, couldn’t stop wanting him. Not that I was trying.

I’d have plenty of time to convince myself I didn’t still want him when he left.

“I want you to fuck me tonight,” Milo murmured between kisses.

My brain crashed straight into a brick wall, and I needed a minute to recover after hearing that. I blinked up at him, swallowed, licked my lips, swallowed again, and then nodded.

“You, uh. Have you ever… done that? Before?”

Milo shook his head, nibbling on his lower lip. I loved the way he blushed at the best of times, pink spreading over his cheeks and creeping down his neck, but I liked it a whole lot more than usual right now.

He was asking me for something huge, and I couldn’t have been more honored.

I kissed the corner of his mouth, taking a moment to breathe in the smell of him that I liked so much, then trailing kisses along his jaw.

“No pressure,” I promised. “But that’s definitely something we could do.”

Milo’s cheek felt searing hot against mine, but I wouldn’t have moved for the world. AndhethoughtIwas the perfect one?

“I’ll ask you again tonight,” I said, squeezing his waist. “When we’re alone.”

“There you are!” Seth called out from behind us.

“Did you microchip Milo, or what?” I asked, easing myself away from him. There was no hiding what we’d been up to, but if therehadbeen, the way his face went fire engine red would’ve given us away.

Not that I was keeping it a secret anymore. Let people gossip all they liked about how lucky I was to have someone like Milo, even for a little while.

“That’s not your worst idea,” Seth said. “But no, Andre saw the two of you slipping in here. He’s setting up the lighting for tonight.”

“Busted,” I sighed.

“I’ll give you five minutes,” Seth said. “And then it’s my turn with Milo.”

We both watched him walk away, and then I turned back to grin up at Milo.

“Better get what I want before he wears you out,” I said, pulling him in for another kiss.

MILO

The sunlight outsideof the barn dazed me as I walked into it, looking for Seth after my allotted five minutes with Xander. Tonight couldn’t come fast enough, as far as I was concerned.

The last five minutes had been a great preview, though. Normally I would’ve been self-conscious about ruffled hair and rumpled clothes, but I couldn’t bring myself to worry about it. I’d been away from Xander for thirty seconds and I already wanted to be with him again.

Never in my life had I thought I’d be looking forward to something called a Spring Fling, something that sounded like the most painful version of a mixer I could imagine. But I was. Xander would be there, and I’d have him to myself, and he was taking me home. Things like that didn’t happen to me.

“Well now, you look like you’re having fun.”

I turned around to see Muriel smiling a knowing smile at me and blushed from hairline to toenails.

“There’s no need to look at me like that,” Muriel said. “I was young once, I know what it’s like. No wonder I just saw Xander grinning from ear to ear if he was in there with you.”
