“Oh my god,” I muttered, soaking in the warmth of Harvey’s body, the solid feel of him under me, the scent of his aftershave and the touch of his lips.

Time stood still as I kissed him, a gentle breeze and Theo playing in the leaves the only sounds other than the soft, needy noises passing between us.

I smiled as I felt Harvey getting hard under me, grinding against him to encourage him and getting my ass squeezed again for my trouble, breath hitching at the spike of lust it sent straight to the pit of my stomach.

I wassoglad I’d agreed to this.

“Harv,” I gasped, needy and wound up and starting to get desperate.

“Shh,” Harvey murmured. “This is just foreplay, we’ve got all night.”

All night.

Again.

Harvey was gonna wear me out.

He pulled me in again and I went willingly, so caught up in him that nothing else in the world mattered.

I was so focused on Harvey and how good he felt and how glad I was that I’d made him kissing me a condition of this whole thing that I didn’t notice Theo approaching until Harvey yelled and squirmed away, trying to fight off an over-eager puppy who apparently wanted to do exactly what Daddy was just doing.

Laughter escaped me as Harvey scrambled his way out from under me, pushing me off in his attempt to get away from a persistent puppy tongue.

“Theo,no,” Harvey said, but that just gave Theo the opening he was looking for to lick the inside of his mouth. “Gross, Theo,” Harvey added, wiping his open mouth on the sleeve of his coat.

There were leaves in his hair and puppy drool all over his face, but in the dappled late afternoon light, holding Theo at arm’s length but already giving in and telling him what a good dog he was, he was perfect.

For a second, I wished this moment could go on forever.

I laughed again as Theo tried his luck a second time, tail wagging so hard he was in danger of taking off like a helicopter.

“What’re you laughing at?” Harvey asked as I shuffled my way over to him on my knees, reaching out to pick the leaves out of his hair.

“You just got frenched by a Labrador,” I said, still grinning. “It’s pretty funny.”

“He’s lucky he’s cute,” Harvey grumped, but he was already smiling at Theo again as he made himself comfortable against Harvey’s chest, sitting as though he’d never evenconsidereddoing anything wrong in his entire tiny life.

“Because you wouldn’t kiss him if he wasn’t cute?” I teased.

“I do have a policy of only kissing cute boys,” Harvey said, smiling the just-for-me smile again and then pressing a kiss to the top of Theo’s head.

I stood, brushing leaves off my pants and holding a hand out for Harvey as he clipped Theo’s leash back on. “Come on,” I said. “You can kiss both of us at home.”

Harvey

I’d wokenup next to Iggy this morning and hadn’t stopped thinking about it all day. A work email had stopped me from getting the chance to spend more time in the coffee shop kitchen, but I hadn’t gotten a whole lot done at the cabin, either. Stretched out in the hammock on Iggy’s porch, occasionally falling into a half-doze, and daydreaming had taken up most of my day.

I’d just finished up what I was supposed to do when I heard the sound of footprints crunching through the leaves and saw Theo bounding toward me, pink tongue hanging out of his mouth.

Iggy chased after him, laughing, and I was hit all over again by how pretty his smile was. My imagination didn’t do it justice.

I set my laptop aside and grabbed my phone just in time to take a picture of him as he approached, flushed and glowing, hair escaping from his tiny ponytail again, eyes glittering with laughter.

“You look like you had a good day,” I said, staring up openly at him.

He was beautiful like this, and I couldn’t have stopped looking even if I wanted to.
