“You’reverysexy,” Harvey said, his lips curving into a smile against my neck. “Probably gonna wake you up like this when we’re ninety.”
“If you’re still waking me up likethiswhen we’re ninety,” I said, rocking back to grind against him. “I’ll be very impressed.”
“Gosh,” Harvey said. “Guess I’ll just have to spend the rest of my life with you to impress you.”
I laughed, Harvey’s good mood infectious.
Not that I was in a bad mood before. Exhausted, but happy. So happy.
The happiest I could ever remember being.
“Would that be the worst thing?” I asked, rolling over in Harvey’s arms to look at him.
Harvey shook his head. “No. No, that definitely wouldn’t be the worst thing. You could even call it thebestthing.”
I grinned at him, heart swelling with all the love I finally didn’t have to be afraid to feel for him.
“I love you,” I said, just to feel the words in my mouth. I loved the way they sounded, and I loved the way Harvey’s already sleep-soft face softened even more when I said it.
“Love you, too,” he said, low and intimate.
We snuggled together for sleepy kisses, legs tangling together, Harvey chuckling as I rubbed against him, one hand going straight to my butt and squeezing tight.
“Do you want…?” he murmured, hand trailing down so just the tips of his fingers tickled the sensitive skin of my cock.
I shook my head. “Not yet,” I said against his mouth. “Maybe in the shower.”
Harvey laughed, squeezing my butt again, nipping at my lower lip.
I wrestled him onto his back, pinning him to the mattress and claiming his mouth, swallowing down the sound of his laughter so I could keep it in my own chest.
“You love being on top, huh?” Harvey asked, eyes glittering as he grinned up at me.
“The view’s great,” I said, splaying my hands over his chest, thumbing a nipple until it peaked under my touch.
“Not so bad from down here, either,” Harvey said, hands on my waist this time.
That was practically romantic.
“We’re really doing this, aren’t we?” I asked, as though Harvey being here—and planning on staying—was just now sinking in.
Maybe it was. Maybe it’d take me a little while to get used to the idea.
Harvey took one of my hands, lacing his fingers with mine. “Unless you’re kicking me out, we’re doing this. I’ve had plenty of time to think about it.”
“You were only gone three days,” I said.
“I had eleven years before that to think about it. And then I had you again, and for once in my life I was thinking about something other than work. I was thinking about a future, and what I wanted, and who I wanted to spend it with. And it’s all you, Ig. You’re my everything. Have been for a really long time. Remember how when we were kids we were always going on adventures?”
“I remember our adventures,” I said. “I remember us getting into alotof trouble.”
“I love getting into trouble with you.” Harvey beamed up at me. If there was any doubt left in my mind that he meant it when he said he loved me, that smile was enough to make it melt away.
Harvey loved me with his whole heart. I could see it in him, in the way he looked at me.
The same way he’d always looked at me.
“This is the next big adventure,” Harvey said. “Settling down. Living my life instead of running away from it. And there’s no one I want to do it with more than you.”
