“You don’t know that,” I interrupted.

“Sure he does,” Carter said. “Because you just lost.”

I flopped back on the floor, groaning while my face burned from embarrassment. Great. Everyone here knewwaymore about my sex life than they were supposed to.

“Am I the only one who knew about Devin’s crush on Morgan?” Felix asked, bending over to pass me another coke like the good brother-in-law he was.

“Since when did you know?” Kieran asked. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I thought it was obvious.” Felix shrugged upside-down.

Well,Felixwasn’t upside down. I was. I planned to lie here until I stopped blushing, so I probably lived on the floor now.

Morgan sighed, stretching out beside me like we weren’t taking up half the living room floor. “Come here often?” he asked, grinning.

“You didn’t have to let me win,” I said, reaching out to take his hand and ignoring our audience for a moment. “I would’ve wanted to play with you anyway. I like playing Scrabble with you even though I can’t spell.”

“Yeah, well, I know thatnow,” Morgan shrugged, which was an awkward gesture lying down, but sohimit made me smile. “Wasn’t willing to take the risk. Guess I’ve learned a thing or two about risk from you.”

“Some risks are totally worth it,” I said, grinning back. “You’re totally worth it.”

A chorus of cooing and wolf-whistling sounded around us as I rolled onto my side to kiss him. Blood rushed to my face all over again, but I didn’t care.

I had Morgan. A little embarrassment was a small price to pay for that.

“Get a room,” Aiden called out.

I pecked Morgan’s lips again to spite him. What else were little brothers for?

“Another race?” I asked, sitting up.

“Seriously?” Morgan raised an eyebrow.

“Seriously. I clearly have to get better at this and I’m not letting one loss discourage me. I’m winning that kayaking competition next year, too,” I said as the thought came to me. I was still recovering from everything that’d happened, but as soon as I’d been handed the silver medal, I knew I wanted a trophy. Forme. Not to impress anyone, but because I’d worked for it, and I wasn’t going to quit now.

No more quitting.

Morgan had learned about risk from me, I’d learned about never giving up from him.

“Not gonna make it easy for you,” Morgan said, passing me my controller.

“Wouldn’t have it any other way.” I grinned.

“Rise and shine!”Devin enthused, throwing open my curtains as though the sun was going to burst through them at five minutes to five in the morning. Even in June, it didn’t risethatearly. “We don’t wanna be late.”

I groaned, rolling over and pulling the covers up over my head.

An anxious knot tightened in my stomach at the thought of what I had to do today. I’dpromisedDevin, but…

“Morgan?”

Crap. He’d noticed. I knew that tone, that was Devin’s concerned tone.

The mattress dipped as he climbed onto the bed, reaching out to trace the shell of my ear. One of his favorite spots.
