“Brother-in-law?” Kieran asked, going a little pink himself.

“What do you want me to call him?” Felix asked. “We’re getting married one day,” he said.

“Uh.” Kieran swallowed visibly. “I, umm, it’s a little—“

“That’s not a proposal,” Felix said, and Kieran’s shoulders dropped down from where they’d climbed up to his ears. “It’s a statement of fact.”

Kieran stared as Felix walked away with the medal, looking for a spot in the sunlight to photograph it. He was getting good—I’d been following his Instagram for a while now, and I could see the steady improvement under Kieran’s instruction.

Ofcoursethey were getting married. Eventually. They were meant for each other.

Morgan’s hand slid into mine, warm against my fingers, reassuring.

Secretly, I thoughtwewere meant for each other, too. That we’d get married one day, and it’d be just like one of these family lunches, surrounded by people who loved us.

Aiden moved to stand in front of us, looking between our faces with his lips pursed. “I’m not sure who I need to warn about breaking who’s heart, here,” he said. “So you’re both on notice.”

“Me?” I asked, feigning shock. “The sweetest, kindest—”

“Shortest,” Kieran interrupted, resting his elbow on my head to illustrate his point.

“Shortest,” I agreed. “Man in this family?”

Aiden raised an eyebrow.

“I got the sweetest one,” Carter said.

“I got the kindest,” Felix called from his position by the window.

Morgan looked at me, still holding my hand, and shrugged. “Definitely got the shortest.”

EvenMomlaughed at that, but the joke was on them—I was holding Morgan’s hand, and that was all I cared about right now.

“And the second-best kayaker in the world,” Morgan added. “First-best boyfriend. And cutest.”

“I’m very cute!” Aiden protested.

“Yeah!” Kieran agreed.

“No,” Carter said, paling as Aiden glared at him. “I mean, youarecute, but look at Devin! He’s adorable. Smaller things are cuter.”

“That’s true,” Felix agreed, handing the medal back as he joined us again.

“If he’s so cute,” Aiden complained. “Why don’t you datehim?”

“Ah…” Carter rubbed the back of his neck, the tips of his ears going pink. “Couldn’t take Morgan in a fight?”

Aiden’s mouth fell open as everyone else burst into laughter.

“Trading me in for a younger model!” Aiden said, still pretending to be shocked.

“Right after he agreed to move in, too,” Morgan added.

“What?” I asked as everyone looked at him. Apparently, I wasn’t the only person this was brand new information to.

Morgan glanced around the room, scratching the back of his head. “Uh. Guess that hadn’t been announced yet.”

Aiden threw his hands up in the air, but he wasn’t mad. No one was.
