“Bungee jumping? It’s awesome, you should try it,” I responded automatically. “There’s something about the freefall, y’know, the few seconds before the cord pulls you back. It’s as close as I’ve ever come to flying.”

“Well, when you put it likethat,” Morgan said, glancing toward me. “Still not doing it, still think you’re insane.”

But he was smiling at me, affection and warmth in his eyes, and maybe it was just older-brother affection, like the kind I got from Aiden and Kieran, but Iwantedit to be something else.

For now, I was going to let myself believe it was.

I smiled back at him asUnder Pressurecame on, letting my eyes fall closed to enjoy the company and the thought of doing this for the whole trip.

We couldn’t get to the cabin park soon enough.

There was only one bed.

Obviously, there was only one bed. That was how this deal worked, I was meant to be dating Devin. We’d come together as a couple, as far as anyone knew.

Well, anyone except us and Marta.

I just hadn’t thought about theonly one bedpart until I’d been standing in front of it, fingering the strap of my bag nervously, wondering which side to take.

“Do you have a preference?” Devin asked, standing beside me.

“Not really,” I said.

I had a habit of sleeping right on the edge of the bed anyway. It didn’t make any difference to mewhichedge.

At least there’d be plenty of room for Devin. As if he wasn’t all of five-foot-six and built like a store mannequin.

There would’ve been room for both of us in a single. This broad, comfy-looking, neatly-made bed would be plenty of space.

The fact that it currently seemed about six inches wide was just my brain playing tricks on me. There was lots of room. This definitely didn’t have to be weird.

“Well. I’m closer to this one, and I’m exhausted,” Devin said, dumping his bag by the bed and collapsing onto it. “You can just roll me to the other side if you change your mind.”

I sat on the edge like I was afraid the bed—or Devin—was going to bite me.

The door burst open, Marta and Julie spilling through it into the tiny cabin, both of them laughing and grinning ear to ear.

“You made it!” Marta said. “Julie, this is Morgan.”

“I know Morgan,” Julie said softly. “I like walking past your displays,” she added, turning her attention to me. “You’re very in tune with the natural world.”

I wasn’t sure how true that was, but I liked hearing it. As much as I was sure shecouldcurse me if she put her mind to it, I doubted Julie had ever actually thought of doing anything like that. She seemed sweet. I’d seen her brushing her fingers over the flowers outside a few times, even though we’d never really spoken.

At least I didn’t have to worry about getting along with her.

“It’s so cute that your auras match,” she continued, breaking into a soft, bright smile that made her dark eyes sparkle.

“Ourwhat?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Julie can see auras,” Devin said, although he didn’t really sound like he believed it. “They’re like… lights. Around you.”

“I know what an aura is,” I said.

“Good,” Julie said. “Yours and Devin’s match. And kind of… curl together at the edges. Like they wanna be closer. It’s nice.”
