“Yes,” Oscar interrupted.
Ryan raised an eyebrow. “Yes?”
“Yes I’ll move in here,” he responded. “That was what you were trying to ask, right?”
The wave of relief that washed over Ryan was almost enough to knock him off his feet. He nodded, words still escaping him, his heart pounding.
Oscar was saying yes.
Oscar was sayingyes. He was going to move in.
A grin spread across Ryan’s face, so broad it made his cheeks hurt.
“I figured,” Oscar continued. “You’ve made me two special dinners and pulled me aside three times in the last two weeks. I was wondering how long it’d take for you to actuallyask.”
“You knew?” Ryan raised an eyebrow. He hadn’t realized he was that transparent.
Although, Oscar had always had a knack for reading him. He had the same thing with animals of all shapes and sizes.
“I had an idea.” Oscar shrugged. “I was planning on asking myself if you didn’t get around to it soon, but I figured you wouldn’t want to move into my apartment and it seemed rude to invite myself to move in here.”
“Spot wants you to move in,” Ryan said, his brain finally reminding him of all the good reasons he’d come up with for Oscar to move in here. Too late, since he’d already accepted.
“I already said yes.” Oscar smiled kindly, taking Ryan’s free hand in his own, rubbing his thumb over the knuckles. “You’re it for me. I don’t wanna rush you into anything, but… I’m here to stay. Forever. You don’t need to worry about asking me things like this. I’ll always say yes.”
A thrill of excitement made Ryan’s stomach tighten. He wasn’t quite ready for anything more than moving in together, but it was nice to have confirmation that when hewas, Oscar would be there.
And he’d say yes again.
“I have to finish this sign,” Ryan said, nodding up to it.
Oscar hummed, setting the pitcher he was still holding down on the ladder and then turning back to Ryan with a look on his face that sent a rush of blood south.
Ryanknewthat look.
Before he could process what was happening, Oscar had grabbed his open shirt with both hands and was pulling him in for a kiss. Their noses brushed together, and Ryan gasped at the contact, giving Oscar a chance to slip his tongue past Ryan’s lips and lick his palate.
A low, needy noise rumbled in Oscar’s chest, and Ryan couldn’t help but answer. By now, Oscar could play him like an expert, a few simple touches, just the right amount of pressure, the perfect little sound that he knew set Ryan off every single time.
The sign suddenly seemed like a very distant concern.
Right up until Oscar broke the kiss and backed away a pace, anyway.
“You do have to finish the sign,” Oscar said. “The ladder’s in the way of people trying to leave. You’ll want Finn and May to be gone before I start in on what I’m gonna do to you tonight.”
Ryan blushed all over again, the heat of the sun making it ten times worse. He nodded mutely, words escaping him, his mouth still stuck on kissing Oscar and his cock already showing interest in what, exactly, Oscar was going to do with him.
“I’ll finish the sign,” he said, voice hoarse with lust. “Then I’ll come inside.”
“Good.” Oscar grinned at him. “I’ll encourage everyone to leave on time tonight. And then we’ll haveallweekend.”
Ryan really, reallyliked the sound of that.
